Comment by StevenSpillberg74 on December 7, 2011 at 4:28pm That was a fucking great show and to hear some of my personal favourite B films reeled off such as "The Hidden" (you legend Co-Host!) "Brain Damage" (you legend Cyrus!), "Night Of The Creeps" etc, I couldn't help but yell out a resounding "FUCK YES" to nearly all of them. I've only just started listening to LEOG on top of my fave podcasts (LTD and ACOCO) and although I'm not a comic book fan, I find all the comic book and similar stuff you talk about still irreverant, funny and informative. ALL OF YOU guys and girls seriously outdo yourselves with your podcasts, I cannot state that enough. I'd honestly love to just fly to Texas to meet you all at one of your Spill.con's or something but until that day (if it ever comes) I'm more than happy to follow you lot on here thanks to your amazing podcasts.
Much much love from the UK here and long live the LEOG indeed
(Btw that Brian is fucking awesome, nothing better than hearing someone who genuinely knows their shit when it comes to movies as well as you guys)
And just to end on a B movie(ish) tip; anyone of you lot or fellow Spillio's like either of the following as much as I do?
Maniac Cop (all 3 of them)
Night Of The Comet (my ALL TIME fave B movie period)
A Boy And His Dog
The Boys Next Door
Blood Diner
Street Trash
*There's a fuck-ton more that I've seen but these are the most memorable I can think of right now
Comment by Jordan Hoffman on December 2, 2011 at 3:07pm I LOVE the discussion you had about Godzilla, Mothra, & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack (*pant*).
Shusuke Kaneko is a phenomenal director and I hope you guys enjoyed that film as it is probably my favourite Godzilla film besides the original. It's so wonderful.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I felt I had to comment about the "direct sequel" thing. It's useless knowledge, but... Well, what amount of any of this IS useful?
Anyway: There are 3 Godzilla series'. The first series was the first film up until Terror of MechaGodzilla in 1975. After that, the series was rebooted (ignoring every film except the original) in 1984 and this second series continued until 1995.
It wasn't until 1999 that the series was rebooted again with the third series. Except in this case: Every film in the third series is a standalone "reboot" of sorts (ignoring all of the films prior except the original) the exception being "Tokyo S.O.S" which is a direct sequel to the film prior to it (Godzilla X MechaGodzilla). "Giant Monsters All Out Attack" is part of this reboot-filled third series.
