Plot: The plot revolves around 3 serial killers who narrowly escape the law and is pursued by a serif who seeks redemption for the murder of his brother
The film is not a direct sequel to rob zombies earlier wok ‘house of 1000 corpuses’ But it does use mostly the same characters and I have to say that this is defiantly the better of the two. The film starts off with a shootout between the local law and the Firefly family, witch got me hooked.
This film is very different from the other typical horror flicks, for other movies would establish a good guy and bad guy from the start and stays that way throughout the whole of the movie, but this one make you think that the law is that good guy and serial killers are the bad but as the movie slowly progresses the doesn’t seem to be a real hero to the story.
We are lead to believe that Sheriff Wydell is going to save the day and capture the criminals, but because his brother was killed by the family, he just doesn’t want to catch them, he wants to kill them in the most brutal way. I like this in the film for we know why the character cracks and it makes sense to the audience the he just wants to avenge his brother
Now to the stars of the film. The killers who are on the run are Baby, Otis, and Captain Spaulding (yes they are all character names from Marx brothers film, and the film does bring this up). Baby, who is played by Sheri Moon Zombie who I’m not quite sure is she is rob zombie daughter or what but she has been in a lot of other of Rob’s film, she is a cold hearted bich that will not think twice to throw a dagger in to your neck. Otis who is played by Bill Moseley is fucking amazing in this film, fan of the film thought he was os good they stared a partisan to get him an Oscar witch i 100% agree with, even though its 6 years to late. The third of the killers is Captain Spaulding who is played by Sid Haig, this character is definitely one of the most interesting and scary I have seen, he wares clown make up most of the time and goes around scaring lil kids and doing whatever the fuck he likes.
These three characters don’t really go though a character arc like the sheriff, but I enjoyed watching the relation ship between them (for they are all related in one way or another), they argue like normal family’s which can seem strange at first while there shooting people in the face but is pulled of so well you can’t help to adore it. The killers are so fun to watch because they go around doing what he wants its almost like watching someone on GTA doing whatever the fuck they want to whoever the fuck they want.
To be honest I can see why people dislike this film it can become a little hard to watch but if you THINK you can deal with it I say defiantly checks this out. I think this film will defiantly give a experience whether it is good or bad just don’t go into this expecting a happy ending.
NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED, SQUEAMISH, PRUDISH... OR TOO MORAL
