When I heard about Edge of Darkness I thought it was a good option, then I knew Mel Gibson was in the leading role of an action movie I definitely wanted to watch it, so I did. What was my surprise or better said my disappointment when I saw a slow, dark movie with a Gibson very low on energy and very overact. Edge of Darkness tells the story of Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a veteran homicide detective for the Boston Police Department and a single father. When his only child, twenty-four year-old Emma (Bojana Novakovic), is murdered on the steps of his home, everyone assumes that he was the target. But he soon suspects otherwise, and embarks on a mission to find out about his daughter?s secret life and her killing. The story isn't interesting to watch, in fact after a whille it turns a little boring and the plot have some flaws. The cast is interesting, it was good to see Mel Gibson again on screen but think his performance was little exaggerated, Bojana Novakovic plays the role of Gibson's daughter, her participation was short but convincing. Danny Huston and Ray Winstone supporting roles where decent enough. In conclusion, Edge of Darkness is movie which pretends to maintain the viewer on the edge of the seat without obtaining it.
