The Eartha Kitt Essentials

Hello, world! Today was a beautiful festive day-if you didn't have crazy family members threatening you with a knife at the table-but along with this day, the entertainment community loss someone special - EARTHA KITT.

The reason I said entertainment is because she was definitely an entertainer. She was known for her unique voice, which can't be described other than a classy 30's feel to it. Her singing and acting ability allowed her to work for decades. Also known her physique cause even being in her later years, she was able to dance around her younger counterparts like it was nobody's business. Her beauty lasted for decades to the point that in 2007, she became the spokeswoman for M*A*C.

This blog is to show the extraordinary talent that she was. There will never be another Eartha Kitt.

1. Eartha Kitt as Catwoman in "Batman" (1967-1968)

I will fight you to the death if you don't agree that Kitt embodied 'Catwoman." Yes, this series was campy, but she set the tone for who Catwoman was.She was CATWOMAN. Her signature 'purr' still has people doing it to this day. This clip is from her first appearance on the series on the episode called "Catwoman's Dressed to Kill."


2. Eartha Kitt as Lady Eloise in "Boomerang" (1992)

My favorite black romantic comedy still holds up to this. The movie stars Eddie Murphy as Marcus, a successful advertising executive who woos and beds women almost at will. After a company merger, the "player" in him is challenged by love. During the beginning of the merger, Eartha plays the face and name of the product that Murphy is advertising, Lady Eloise. She is hilarious and has the most memorable scenes in the movie. She HCIC in the movie (High Cougar In Charge) and got what she wanted. The PUURRRR Lives on!!!


3. Eartha Kitt as Yzma in "The Emperor's New Groove" (2000)

A whole new generation was introduced to the wonders of Eartha in The Emperor's New Groove. Eartha Kitt was Yzma and Yzma was Eatha Kitt. Not only did she blessed the movie, but also the sequel and the cartoon series that followed which is her last appearance on TV or movies.


4. Eartha Kitt starring as "Anna Lucasta" (1959)

This is one of first starring roles. Anna Lucasta is story about a girl (Eartha Kit) who is thrown out of her house and turns to a life of prostitution where she meets a sailor (Sammy Davis Jr.) who tries to turn her around. She ends up falling in love with him but her father is intent on ruining her life and breaking the two of them apart.


5. Eartha Kitt singing "Santa. Baby"

I figured this was the best way to the end this post of "The Eartha Kitt Essentials." "Santa, Baby" is her most memorable song and I'm sure some of you played it today or during the month. She passed away on this day, but her name was longed stamped on Christmas. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the beautiful Eartha Kitt....



Rest In Peace, Ms. Kitt. You will be missed. And on that note, I'll leave you with the woman telling you her story and struggle and how she was discovered by Orson Wells. This CAT will forever live on in hearts and memories.
