The E-Sides: Silverstein - Short Songs/Stallone - STALLONE

Release date: February 7, 2012
Label: Hopeless Records

Canadian post-hardcore slammers Silverstein really like hardcore. They really, really, really like hardcore. They like hardcore so much they have released an album consisting of twenty songs all of which are under a minute and thirty seconds. Eleven of which are covers from bands such as Gorilla Biscuits, Orchid, NOFX, and the Dead Kennedys. If you are a hardcore punk or emo fan I would say check it out. There is plenty of songs to start a pit and small dance to. What do you got to loose the album is only nineteen minutes long.

Release date: February 1, 2012
Label: Independent

Stoner metal guitarist Juan Montoya left Torche back in 2009, and some say the band has never been the same ever since. Well now he has released a new, free EP with his new band, Stallone. The first track, Wondrous Beast, has Montoya's signature heaviness with actually a few actual bells added in. Towards the middle of the song the guitar and drums turn into a pummeling avalanche of feedback. Any sludge/stoner/doom metal fan give this EP a check out. I am differently going to keep my eye on this band.
