Before I get started, I want to make it clear that I'm a big fan of the show and loved season 2. There was this sweet thing going on for a couple of months where Friday was the best night to watch television. TSCC at 8 followed by Dollhouse and ending with Battlestar Galctia and no matter how much of Whedon nut I am or how in love with Battlestar Galactia , TSCC was the most of entertaining of the three on more than one occasion.
With that said I don't blame Fox at all for the cancellation of the show sometimes these things are unavoidable, and here is why. The show started out with no where close to a bang, the pilot was easily the worst episode of the series, It was almost laughable in parts and the chemistry between the characters certainly wasn't there. Because of this and much more I and over 8 million people didn't tune for the second. That's one hell of a drop. Ratings for the series stared at 18 million and by the finale were at 8 million. That is why many insiders predicted a cancellation of the Terminator show. Yes it was a surprise to most that the show even got a second season. During the break a friend urged that I give the show another chance and it's an understatement to say I'm happy that I did. I tuned in on for the season 2 premiere on some Monday in September and despite the fact Terminator had gained one more viewer in I. It had still lost 3 million additional viewers over the break. It's sad that TSCC didn't have the viewership that it would later on deserve but the blame not on Fox. It simply could not hold on to a solid audience and with a high budget there was no way it could last. I thank Fox for giving TSCC a second chance it's unfortunate that it didn't pan out but I wont blame them for trying.
