Note:I decided to write this like a year ago,when a spill member said that when he asked people what the bapple of dbz was,they never gave a reason,just a plot summary.So I decided that I would list some good reasons that dbz is awesome.It was going to be the rant of the century,with lots of cussing and swearing.
But later on I realized that not everyone has to like what I like,and that the spill member had a right to his opinion(partly due to an episiode of "lets do this"oddly enough)and so I droped it.
But its been on my to-do list for almost a year now,so I figgured I might as well do it.
But now that i've grown a little,it can become a rational disscussion instead of a heated rant.

Now if anyones ever had a television,and has ever heard of the "Anime"craze,they've probably heard of Dragon Ball z(or dbz for short).
This thing was friggin huge in the 90's,and its still popular today.But for everyone who likes this series,theres someone who hates it.This has caused fierce online debates in the past,and it probably will in the future.
The critics have a right to think what they want to think,but I would like to offer a different view,seperate from the usual "oh f*** you,dbz rocks!!" argument.
There's a reason that I think people like dbz as much as they do.The action is an important part of it,but I think that there may be another reason also.The journey.
You see,dragon ball z is really a sequal to an anime series called "dragon ball."
"Dragon ball "was about a young Goku,simply trying to find the dragon balls(these seven glass balls with stars in them.If you get all seven,a dragon appears and grants you a wish).
And this origional series wasn't an action series,but a comedy.
This was based off of the chinese fairy tail,called "journey to the west",about The Monkey King named Son Goku.
Dragon ball started out as a parody of this story,but grew into something more.
You get introduced to Goku and a lot of the other characters during this series and,if you stuck around,you saw them grow up.After a while,the story grows along with the characters,and things get a little more serious.
This series(dragon ball and dragonball z are considered one series in japan) was very long,and by the time it was finished,the little ten year old Goku is married, with two kids!In fact his little son,Gohan,even grew up and had a daughter.
They have a long journey through out this series,and so do you,the audiance.
Part of the reason that people love dragon ball so much,may be because of the long journey that they've taken with these characters.Unlike a lot of other anime series,they didn't have Goku and his friends stuck in a time warp,where nobody grew up.They grew up,and by the time the intense action of Dbz started,you as a fan were really invested in the the story,and you really got worried when Goku or Krillian or anybody got hurt,because you were there for the entire trip.
