The 10 Highest Grossing Movies of 2010, so far (Part 1).

I meant to do this last month seeing as that was the half way point, but seeing as I'm a lazy 17 year old on his summer vacation, I'm surprised I'm doing this at all. Just like I did the 50 highest grossing movies of the past decade (5 for each year), below are the top 10 highest grossing movies of 2010, as of August 7, 2010. Only difference between my previous blog post is that I'll be adding pics and my own two cents on the movies, if I've seen them. Hell, I'll probably say something even if I haven't seen them. I don't want this post to be too long, plus I have a limited amount of time today, so this'll be a two part post.

1. Toy Story 3

Total domestic gross so far: $394,148,000

Total foreign gross so far: $436,400,000

There's not much I can say about this amazing film that everyone hasn't already said. I knew this was going be successful, but I had no idea Toy Story 3 made so much money overseas. Nearly half a billion dollars. Compared to how much money other movies have been making this year, that is truly impressive. Not surprising, but still impressive.

2. Alice in Wonderland (2010)

Total domestic gross so far: $334,191,110

Total foreign gross so far: $690,105,649

I'm still surprised how much bank this made. I didn't hate Alice in Wonderland, but I sure as hell didn't love. I probably wouldn't have seen it if my older brother didn't offer to take me to see it for my birthday (he fell asleep the first time he saw, and he wanted to see it on IMAX, too bad he fell asleep again. He could've saved some money). I still can't understand how this movie was so big. Sure it's a Tim Burton movie, but it's the same as all of his other movies.

3. Iron Man 2

Total domestic gross: $311,612,666

Total foreign gross: $309,602,000

Even though it made it's money back, Iron Man 2 was still a failure, not only to the studio, but to some of the fans also. I enjoyed the first much more than this one. I still liked IM2, I just didn't like the fact that this one is an Avengers movie more than an Iron Man movie, and that the final fight wasn't much of a fight. The lasers in his wrists were cool though.

4. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Total domestic gross: $291,552,000

Total foreign gross: $356,700,000

......some things are better left unsaid. All I can say is that I didn't see it, and didn't want to see it.

5. Shrek Forever After

Total domestic gross: $236,119,800

Total foreign gross: $409,913,965

Another one I didn't see, and had no intentions of seeing. The first two were great, but after the crappy third one and seeing Shrek's green face all over the damn place I was done with Shrek. I heard this one was decent though. Here's hoping this is truly the final chapter.

Well, that'll about do it for this part. Feel free to comment on not only my poor blogging skills, but the films also. And please, don't start any b.s. about Twilight. If you do feel the need to say something negative about it, don't be a douche bag. Part 2 will be up later tonight or tomorrow. Later days!

I was slightly disappointed with Toy Story 3, it felt like Toy Story 2 Redux. None of the new toys were cool, other than Ken who was hilarious with still being stuck in the closet. Toy Story 2 was way more epic, this third movie felt like just a season finale than a bold new chapter. They could've been a hell lot more creative after this many years.

@GyasKrennel, the whole thing is just a misunderstanding, don't worry about.

@Gift of the Magi, I understand now.

Simple, none of your business. I read every thread and blog here.

I get that. I'm just wondering where Twilight specifically comes in.

@Azazel and GyasKrennel, Gift of the Magi said "This isn't me being a douche bag," and he wasn't. When I said don't be a douche bag at the end of this post I meant don't be a douche bag to people who enjoyed Twilight. That's it. I didn't mean to imply that I thought that he was being a douche bag about any thing, because he wasn't.

Funny thing is, by Thursday, Shrek will be #6 and #5 will be Inception.

Going to have to agree with Gift of the Magi; the year is far from over, so making this list is rather moot when you'll just have to amend it come January.

And are Azazel and I missing something? He didn't mention Twilight at all in that comment, nor has he posted any other comments on this blog (unless they've been deleted).

You have cool lists, dude. HIGH FIVE!

@Gift of the Magi, I meant don't be a douche bag about the whole Twilight craze. You can make douche bag comments about the list, I honestly don't care. And if you feel it's so silly, why'd you spend time reading and then commenting on it?
