Test Footage For Unproduced Hong Kong Phooey & Marvin The Martian Films

Warner Brothers' proposed live-action Hong Kong Phooey and Marvin the Martian movies are all but dead. More accurately, Marvin is officially cancelled and HKP is circling the drain. At one point both were in the works, and Eddie Murphy was even attached to 'Phooey.' This piece of casting required the studio to go to the outrageous lengths of...dialing Eddie Murphy's phone. Director Alex Zamm, who was attached to both projects, has just released test footage from the respective films. To say we dodged a bullet is a bit of an understatement. Lame jokes, toilet humor (literally), and groin trauma? Face. Palm. Take a look at the separate reels of footage and let us know what you think.

The character model for Phooey looked great but egad that was crap. Eddie Murphy just has to recognizable of a voice to be the character in my opinion. I'm glad Marvin was cancelled. I can't see a 90 minute film with him being any good.

Mavin the Martain in general is best as a secondary character, and why the hell would his movie take place on earth?

LOL. I didn't want to bring this up, and I'm not even a BIG Phooey fan, but Hong Kong Phooey IS a mild-mannered JANITOR! WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD HE DRINK FROM A TOIL---------never mind. Eddie Murphy sounds NOTHING like Phooey(RIP Scatman)!  Marvin Mart----Just BURN THEM! BOTH OF THEM! BURN EM' BOTH!

Thank goodness they are both stopped.

However, I think you could do a full CGI or live action blend movie using Looney Tunes Characters. I liked the one they did with Roadrunner and Coyote.

Although, if they did one, it would probably be Space Jam 2 with Lebron James. UGH

@Scott_PJ to be fair, they're live action. Just a bad year for family movie's, you could say.
