Second blog review for Spill. Here we go.

Synopsis:

By now, we all know the story for this one. Set in 2018, John Connor is fighting against Skynet, while at the same time a death row inmate, Marcus Wright, who donated his body to science, wakes up to find how much the world has changed. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just leave it at that.

Review:

I'm a big fan of the first two Terminators, so I was excited to see this new installment. I went to the midnight premier in my town, and I have to say I felt I got my money's worth. The overall feel of the film is different from the previous ones, which I think is a good thing to deal with a post apocalyptic war with machines. The special effects for the Skynet robots were fantastic, as were the Terminators themselves. I also liked all the performances, especially Christian Bale's as John Connor.

The only real complaints I have for this film are the winks and nods to the original series and the radio music. The addition of things such as "Come with me if you want to live" and "I'll be back" were cute at first, but after a certain point the allusions to the earlier movies just take away from this movie. The thing with radio music was, after the robot apocalypse, radio stations were still transmitting music. "Highly illogical" if you ask me.

Despite my two complaints, I still think this movie was a fun ride with an interesting story behind it. For a Spill grade, I'd give this movie a solid

Whether or not you are a fan of the series, I think you can enjoy this movie and get your money's worth for this one.

Personally, I don't understand why some of the early reviews are so down on this movie while everybody is dick-riding Star Trek to high heaven. Their pretty much the same thing. Get some new actors to fill classic roles, add some updated sweet-ass action scenes, throw in some classic lines and nods to the previous movies and call it a fuckin day.

I'm not a Star Trek fan so I didn't really like it, but I totally see how people could if they were into the shit. I'm a huge Terminator fan and I totally got a kick out of Salvation. I don't know if it will be one of my all-time fav's but I'm definitely putting that shit on my Ipod.

For those who say its not like the first two films, OF COURSE NOT. The atmosphere of T2 was a one-time thing and it will never be repeated IMO. We should respect the past and enjoy where the new franchise is going. If you're a Terminator fan I think you'll like Salvation. Full Price on my end.

I had a different feeling about it but read my review and before you make judgement. Just be prepared for what SPILL CREW might say.

The radio thing confused me at first, but I just assumed they had tapes or CD's.

Also; they blow up a car to attract an HK yet when hunting down Marcus they SET A FOREST ON FIRE and do not seem worried about attracting terminators to their headquarters.

the songs werent transmitted by radio, they were old tapes or cds ]

i really liked the movie, and i cant understand why critics bash the plot, i loved all the ideas they presented (especially Marcus)

*****SPOILER****

my only problem with it was them killing off Marcus. i was really hoping to see him in future films. he was definitely the best part of the movie

*****END SPOILERS*****

but i agree with everything else. solid FULL PRICE!!
(i kinda liked all the homages to the old movies, but arnold looked a little too fake to me. but thats very very acceptable)

If we learned anything from Three Dog even in a global Apocalypse some one needs to be a DJ
