Tenacious D “Rize Of The Fenix” Review

I have a moderate man crush on jack black, maybe because everyone says I am the Spanish version of him, so when i heard there was a new “D” album i had to pick it up. and after listening to this awesome display of awesomeness i have to say the phoenix is not the only thing that is rising… I’m talking about my penis.

As soon as you get this CD you will notice the case isn’t anything special, in fact its looks very cheep, but who cares its all about the music. There are 11 songs and 2 comedic dialogues on the CD. Each track blends classic rock, modern rock, acoustic, all with a distinct theatrical flare that is associated with tenacious d. something that will be evident to the savvy music listener is that there is a distinct “Foo Fighters” feel to most of the tracks. This is due to the collaboration with Dave Grohl how plays plays drums on the album. I don’t think Grohl had much influence in the writing room, if any, But when you add one of the best musicians of all time to your ensemble it cant help but influence the final product.
