These conferences have been occurring since 1984 and have been live-streamed online since 2006. Why are we talking about this? Because a fake TED Talk broadcast was just put together as a piece of viral marketing for Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus.' In the fictional TED Talk, Guy Pearce, as Peter Weyland, talks about his company's plan to "change the world." Knowing that the sinister Weyland-Yutani eventually sends out the ship Nostromo, and the terror that ensues, there is a dark foreboding in his passionate words. This is a really smart piece of viral marketing and I absolutely love it. But who cares what I think. Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think.
'Prometheus' hits theaters June 8th

Comment by Cthulhu R'lyeh on February 28, 2012 at 2:13pm Didn't like the ending. Seemed too much like a dramatic character reveal moment, as opposed to a speech.
