Steven Seagal has been a reserve deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parish Louisiana for 20 years, and until now it's been like his little secret. In the show we follow a team of officers, including Steven, as they patrol the streets and pursue criminals of all types. In a nut shell it's like an episode of Cops with Steven Seagal mixed in. There are parts where they are in the middle of a chase or dealing with criminals, and then there are parts that look like they set up because it would look good edited together with something else.

The premiere consisted of 2 episodes. The first one was like an introduction to what the series would be. They showed all the officers coming in for roll call where the chief gives them the details of crimes that have been going on in different areas. The rest of the show is the team on patrol followed by clips of Steven teaching a fellow officer how to shoot for his upcoming firearms test. While on patrol the team rides around looking for people committing crimes. The patrol is peppered with what I'm going to call Seagal Vision. He'll say "look at those guys over there" and the screen will warp into slow motion and zoom into some guys walking or sitting on a porch. The patrols take place at night so you hardly see anything when they go into Seagal Vision. There are times when they are just ridding and Steven will just start talking about how much of an expert at reading peoples actions he is, as well as how much he knows about his chosen form of martial arts. When he's talking it'll cut to the guy driving and he has this look on his face that seems to say "I wish this guy would just shut the fuck up". Then the action starts. They'll either get a call about a situation that need more officers or Seagal Vision will find suspicious activity that leads to a chase. There's a point where he's talking about how great he is at staying calm in the face of dangerous situations. The second he says that they get called into a high speed chase, and mister calm gets a death grip on the car and turns into a mother teacher her teenager how to drive. He's freaking out yelling instructions to the guy driving when he says "I know what I'm doing just let me drive" and Steven quietly holds his death grip until they stop.

In between the patrols it shows Steven teaching other officers how to shoot and defend themselves from attackers. When he's teaching a guy how to shoot there's a point where it goes from him teaching him into him showing off really quickly. He starts off shooting a basic target and trying to show the guy how to hit the same spot. Make no mistake if it's really Steven shooting then he's a fucking amazing shot. After a while of showing off his breathing techniques and stances he, no joke, pulls out some small things and a match and says when you're really good you can light it. He quickly knocks out all the small targets and is disappointed because although he hit the match it didn't light. When he's teaching a class on self defense he brings in one of his Aikido students and throws him around demonstrating his moves. This poor guy is half his size and always jumps right up for more when he's tossed around. Steven shows the class how to take on someone coming at them and how to take them down. One of the officers must be the biggest Steven Seagal fan, because he looks like he's about to wet himself whenever he's near him. You can tell he was paying attention to the class when he has a suspect up against a car and has his arm twisted behind his back telling him to comply.

All in all it's an OK show. It's not terrible, but then again it's not great. The saving grace is that there are moments that are unintentionally funny like when people recognize him and flip out. One older woman actually starts to hit on him. She's like "Oh you have such big hands Mr. Seagal". They leave that scene pretty quickly and she's so disappointed when he leaves it's pretty funny. The only reason I watched it is so that when they bring it up on Let's Do This I'll know what they're talking about. More than likely I'll watch it again and if you're into cop shows you should check it out. It comes on Wednesday nights at 10 on A&E.
