It just dawned on us - now that it's 2012 this could be our last SPILL DOT CON! Guess we better make this the best Spill Dot Con ever. Not that we wouldn't do that anyway.

We have an official site coming soon, but why wait to tell you about the great time we have in store for you. We've kept some fun traditions that have become a staple of the festival along with putting together exciting new events. We're cramming so much stuff into this party we haven't even finished filling the schedule yet, but here's what you can expect so far.

THE MUSIC
Live bands, DJs, and more will be playing the evening parties. With an eclectic mix of different sounds the nights are sure to have something for everyone and keep you going until the place kicks us out.

THE ANTI-SCENE- It's hard not to get sucked into the energy of this four piece band as they combine their own blend of hip hop and hard driving rock.

DESCENDANTS OF ERDRICK - What happens when gamers become rock musicians? They play rock versions of their favorite video game music - complete with real 'sweaty' instruments. It sounds reeeeeally geeky (and it is), but it's also pretty badass. Take a listen for yourself.

GRIMNASTY - Hip hop artist Grimnasty puts on a fun show with a wild lyrical style straight from Austin.

MAN FACTORY - Sure, their name sounds like a swinging gay club, but don't let that fool you. Any indie pop band that gained fame by writing a Street Fighter rock opera has to be fun.

DJ LIQUAFOX - "The Fox and the Sound". Representing block rocking beats, fresh out the Caribbean, DJ Liquafox will be switching up some hip hop, house, reggae and dub step, to keep the party live.

THE EVENTS

THE SPILL.COM 3rd ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL -

You know the rules. Make a five minute or less short involving at least one of the Spill crew. Use any format - live action, animation, sock puppets, etc. Films will be judged by the audience. Check out last year's winner!

We're taking the best entries (or only entries depending on how many we get) and showing them in front of a live audience at the Marchesa Theater. After the screenings one lucky winner will be chosen by our panel of judges - the Spillio Audience - and that person will receive a grand prize. Thinking about going for that prize? Well, let's get the rules out of the way first:

RULES:
1. Make it about the Spill crew. It can be just one of us or all of us. And it can be any format. Live action, animation, use your pets, use action figures, or use sock puppets. Just make sure we're featured in there somewhere.

2. Make it five minutes or less. If it goes over five minutes for any reason YOU LOSE!

3. Make sure the format is .mov, h.264, .mp4, or .avi.

4. Make sure your film is in by June 10th. If it gets to us later we can't do anything for you.

MASTER PANCAKE THEATRE - We hate it when people talk through movies, but most people aren't as funny as the Master Pancake guys. Join them and a few members of the Spill crew as they make fun of one of our favorite films.

THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS PANEL - Just coming off the success of his show's appearance on The Conan O' Brian Show, Jason Neulander takes us behind the scenes of his live action graphic novel - a cross between comic book visuals and a sci if radio broadcast.

THE LOADING BAR LIVE VIDEO GAME PLAYTHROUGH - We've seen the videos where the boys play games as they comment. Now sit in the same room and join in on the fun as they do it live.

ANIMATION PANEL - It was a pleasant surprise to find out we have a lot of talented artists and animators on Spill.com. We bring a few in to talk about their different approaches to animating.

EWOK PRINCESS' UNOFFICIAL KICK OFF PARTY - It truly has become a tradition for our beloved member Ewok Princess to reward those who arrive into Austin early with a with her own little party. Get a dose of arcade nostalgia while playing classic stand-up video games at 'Pinballz'. Afterwards, share with the world what a great time you're having through song at 'Austin Karaoke'.

SPILL LIVE PODCASTS - We spend a whole day bringing you live versions of A Couple of Cold Ones, The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen, The Loading Bar, and Let's Do This.
