Spidey could be facing a vampire.

Sam Raimi spoke to Empire magazine and said that he would like to see Morbius Take on Spiderman in the next installment due out in 2011.

Morbius Pictures, Images and Photos

"He's really cool. A vampire. I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural." Said Raimi.

This would make it the thrid villain to be a scietist "accidently" turning themselves into a supernatural being. Green Goblin, Doc Oc. It's starting to wear a little thin.

I'd rather Raimi do Kraven's Last Hunt but considering #3 had a dark tone it's not a bad call.

I think they're raping the vampire idea a little too much. It's going to grow old by 2011.

Actually it's the other way around, Morbius was supposed to make a cameo in one of the Blade films and use him as a villain, but was cut.

Wow, and I thought I was the psycho. Honestly, what's next? Blade making a brief cameo to help out the wall-crawler? Wait! Or maybe throw in Ben Affleck to reprise his role as the Daredevil! And what the hell... lets throw in Jennifer Garner as Elektra... I can see it now! A movie so shitty, it'll make anything Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer will ever write look like fuckin gold!

Or he can not put Morbius in the films, and this could all be a trick seeing how there is no official conformation of any villains in the next installment. Bear in mind, a handful of Spidey's rogue gallery has that origin story, and it's not the director's fault if he wishes to incorporate these villains into his films. But then again, seeing how Lizard may appear in this film as well I don't see why they don't kill two birds with one laboratory accident and conceive both, Lizard/Morbius or Lizard/Electro or Man-Spider/Lizard or whatever. *sigh*

Even Spider-Man has to cash in on the whole vampire fad. This is what happens when Raimi spends too much time making horror movies.

But then again, sure what the hell?
