Spider-Man Reboot Gets an Official Title and Site!

Well, we no longer have to just call it "the untitled Spider-Man reboot" - Sony Pictures has just unveiled their brand website for the reboot, which is now officially titled 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

You can see the page and register for news and updates HERE. In addition to revealing the new landing page and title, they've also released the second official photo of Spider-Man, this time in full costume! (click for hi-res version)

Granted, it's nothing that we haven't seen a dozen (or two) times in the latest unofficial set pics, but this is the first time we've seen the entire costume, properly lit and color-corrected as it will be in the final film. You can clearly see that the new costume varies drastically from previous versions, and even includes the character's signature mechanical webshooters (I'm sure a certain staff animator will be thrilled).

'The Amazing Spider-Man' stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, is being directed by Marc Webb, and is scheduled for release on July 3rd, 2012.

Hot damn, he's got webshooters!

... then there's going to be a bunch of people complaining that "A high schooler could come up with something like blahblahblah"

I'm really digging the suit.

You know the real Spider-Man aka Donald Glover just released his first two songs from his new EP on his website Iamdonald.com

Thats a personal opinion I really don't mind them that much.

I wonder how Peter feels when he spent more money on his Spider suit than help Aunt May pay the bills.

I don't believe its silver rather its steel only unlike in steel toe boots these offer more protection

...and I'm afraid if you enlarge it and look at his left foot I see something silver. I can live with some costume changes, for instance ,I can live with the stripe down the leg. I can also live with the mechanic webshooters as I'm an old ass man-child who remember them from the comic's (although I preferred the organic route...) but man oh man if they give him silver Air Nike's just so they can sell some Spider-Man shoes when the movie is released then they have lost me for good.

Still can't see the feet. If the silver slippers are still there throw me into the HATE camp.

while the lighting makes this photo look alright, still not a fan of this costume. I dont see why they couldn't have just stuck to the classic Steve Ditko design and still have this texture and lighting to it.

Speaking of which.. a darker Spider-man? Give me a break.. please. What part of "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man" says.. gritty and dark? Dark doesn't work for every character.. not everyone is Batman.

Also, I'm tired of the argument, " You just don't like it because it's new and different." Listen fan-boy in denial..

Just because it's New and Different doesn't mean it's Good.

@Fungusmonkey Im counting them as the same company. I also do this with WB/DC. I think that recent Disney flicks are meh but the classic animated ones and some of the live action that they made through Touchstone , Miramax, and etc. Have been pretty good. I view them all as one company sine the House of Mouse owns them. I would say the same if it was a company under the House of Bunny too.
