Spider-Man 4 Villain/Love Interest Cast?

Has one of Spider-Man's next big screen villians (FINALLY!) been revealed? According to their "reliable sources", Mania.com claims that Sam Raimi and co are proceeding with the casting of villains and supporting characters for Spider-Man 4.

"We can exclusively reveal that actress Rachel McAdams has met with the producers of the film for a major role. McAdams (of 'Wedding Crashers' and 'Sherlock Holmes' fame) is said to be a top contender for the role of Felicia Hardy, known to comic fans as The Black Cat.

Our sources tell us that the Black Cat's story fits well with Raimi's Spider-Man formula, which always finds the villains troubling not only the costumed hero, but also becoming entangled in Peter Parker's personal life as well.

Fans recall that when Spidey first encounters the Black Cat, she's a cat burgler looking to free her ailing father from prison. She becomes smitten with the web-slinger, to the point of a stalker-level obsession. Later stories had Peter reciprocating her affection and her becoming a lover, a friend and ally (the perfect thing to allow Sony to create a Spidey spin-off).

And it looks like it'll be a two-villain movie. Our source also says they are casting for a male villain, but had few details. However, this would seem to discount the idea that Lizard is the primary, since the role of Dr. Conners has been cast since movie #2."

How reliable is this? I don't know. Mania isn't known to make up news stories for attention sake. I think Rachel Mcadams would make a purrrr-fect Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.

Also, this could easily take some screen time away from the ever so whiny Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane. How could you complain about that? I'm sure Tobey Maguire wouldn't mind it either.

Who the main villian will be has yet to be confirmed. Raimi has said that after Spider-Man 3(which had 3 villians), he understands that too many is a problem, that it detracts from the experience and his approach to the fourth film will be
"to get back to the basics". I guess me, Cyrus and Leon really are alone when it comes to Spidey 3. I still don't care what anybody says. I enjoyed it regardless of its flaws.

It was reported in back in June that Michael Papajohn will reprise his role as Dennis Carradine (despite the character's supposed death). This led fans to believe that he will return as one of the villians. That seems unlikely considering how, in Spider-Man 3, it was revealed that he wasn't Ben Parker's real killer, but it in fact, it was his partner, Flint Marko wo would later become The Sandman. I really think he will only return in flashbacks......... however, I could be wrong.
Since it was recently confirmed that Dylan Baker will return as Dr. Curt Connors, I really think The Lizard will be the main villian....... however, I could be wrong about that too.
