South Park: Scott Tenorman's Revenge XBLA Review CHA!

Now before you ask, I did not pay for this game. Nor would I pay for this game if given the option. This game is so bland, I can't even believe they would release this given the fact that Bethesda, makers of Fallout and Elder Scrolls, are planing to make their own RPG game with the South Park franchise. I feel bad now that the "Good" game might be downplayed due to this games release.

The story in this game is influenced by one of the most famous episodes of South Park, Scott Tenorman Must DIE!. I wont go into detail, but I would recommend watching it. Ultimately, Cartman gets his revenge, and this game is a followup to that story (Along with another episode). Scott manages to steal Cartmans Xbox 360 Hard drive, causing the boys to go after him and winding up in the future. A world where Scott and his robot ginger army have taken over. Its up to the boys to stop him from sending his armies throughout time and reclaiming the hard drive.

The gameplay is a bare bones platformer. You play as the 4 main characters of South Park, each with their own special power and superhero transformation. Levels are extremely large with lots of secret areas, hidden items and weapons, Combat is done with either stomping on the enemies heads, or picking up weapons like baseball bats or bubble guns. Sounds like a Super Mario Bros game using South Park characters right? Too bad this is 2012 and in another time, this would have been acceptable.

I'll go on the record to say I have played Rayman: Origins. It was simple, had multiplayer, and was extremely fun. This game is boring. My desire to play through this was out of sheer will to end my suffering. You fight the same enemies the ENTIRE GAME! Robot gingers with bats or spike hats. That's it. Occasionally you fight a boss, but its nothing complicated. I even played this with my brother and we both found ourselves groaning and its mediocrity. The voiceover is only thing saving it from being completely crap.

If you haven't guessed already, this game sucks. There are more entertaining platformers out there, many of them miles ahead of this (Fez!!!). Between repetitive enemies, and generic platforming. I can honestly say I would rather be playing a movie tie in.

Some Old Bull Shit!!!

Interesting review, if you didn't pay for it then I feel sorry for the poor souls that did.
