So, Bolt finally hit the theaters in Japan (nearly an entire year after the US release) and I went to go see it the other day. While I was at the theater waiting for them to open the doors, I made a visit to the men's room to expunge an uncomfortable sandwich I had consumed for lunch. 5 minutes after leaving the bathroom, I came to the realization that the familiar weight of my wallet on my right butt cheek was no longer there. Sensing a moment of panic, I rushed back to the facilities to the stall I had been using, but my beloved wallet was nowhere to be found...
Running simulations through my head of the calls I'd have to make to the bank to cancel my ATM card and such, I went to the theater information desk to ask them to look out for a black empty wallet that might turn up in a trash can somewhere in the forseeable future. Much to my surprise, I discovered that not 2 minutes before, my wallet had been delivered to the desk. I checked the contents and found everything there from my bank cards and old receipts to the 7000 yen in cash (roughly 70 USD) in all its entirety.
Sometimes, just when you think there is no hope for humanity, someone does something selfless that makes your head spin...
The movie was great, by the way.
