Snow White War Continues: Universal Nabs Ian McShane

Source: THR

Okay, seriously now... the production battle between Relativity Media's 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White' and Universal's 'Snow White and the Huntsman' is just getting ridiculous. Recently, Relativity thought they struck a serious blow when they signed up nearly every recognizable dwarf actor they could for their band of dwarfs. However, now it seems Universal has taken that in stride and decided, rather than cast dwarf actors, that they will instead cast bigger name actors in the roles and simply shrink them to size using camera trickery and CG (like Peter Jackson did with the primary hobbit actors in 'The Lord of the Rings'). To that end, they have signed 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor Ian McShane to portray Caesar - the leader of the dwarfs.

McShane - who plays Blackbeard in 'Pirates' - will lead his band of dwarfs to aid the princess Snow White (played by Twilight "actress" Kristen Stewart) in her battle against her evil stepmother, the Queen (Charlize Theron). The film is a reimagining of the classic fairy tale in which the queen orders Snow White's death, but the huntsman who is sent to kill her (Chris Hemsworth) takes pity on her and instead trains her to survive and fight back.

McShane - who is no stranger to fairy tale-based films - has previously done voicework for Dreamwork's 'Shrek the Third' and is currently filming Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer', a revisionist take on the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' tale.

I remember the old Snow White: A Tale of Terror, starring Sigourney Weaver, when I first read this news I thought it was a remake... it still could be...

Kristen Stewart is the full retard from the Twilight movies

Real midgets walk and talk funny and would be cheaper than doing the whole CG/camera trickery crap which have their limitations. So I see this as a win for Relativity anyway based on that information alone.

I guess the next part of the competition will be who can make the bigger piece of shit?

@ Eiji Hino

She is the star of the alien franchises and the girlfriend in both Ghost Busters movies.
