Now I know I might be a bit late with this blog but I wanted to say what my favorites films of 2009 were. Now I already made a Blog about my top ten favorite films of 2009 awhile back but I wanted to make another one for two reasons. 1. Some of my opinions have changed for the films from my last top ten, which means I some of the movies that I put on my last top ten list are gone from this list and some of the ones that were on the last list are on a different now, and 2. My last blog didn't get noticed that much so I decided to make sure that this blog will have a few more views and comments. So with that out of the way here are my Top Ten favorite films of 2009.

10.Sherlock Holmes

I really like this movie, I thought it was a great movie to end the year strong. This movie was a really fun and a really smart Sherlock Holmes movie. Robert Downey Jr. is one of my favorite actors and he was the main reason I was looking forward to this, and He nailed Sherlock Holmes perfectly while being both really smart and really funny at the same time. The rest of the film is great too and while I did a few problems with it(mainly that there were some slow moments at time), I still enjoyed this movie enough to make my list at number 10.

9.Zombieland

Zombies are AWESOME and This is probably one of my favorite Zombie movie even if it is a comedy. Zombieland has almost everything you want in a Zombie movie, Action, Blood(though there could be more), Comedy and Most importantly Zombies. Though also gives you a little more than that like Great Characters and Great Acting. All the characters are Great including Woody Harrelson who is easily the high light of the movie. Though really I should probably stop because pretty much everything that has been said about this movie has already been said. It's a Great movie and I think anybody who is a zombie fan should see this movie because it will prepare you for the Zombie Apocalypse and mostly because it's just a good freaking movie.

8.CRANK 2 HIGH VOLTAGE

Now If you are looking for possibly the craziest movie of 2009, then Crank 2 is the one you need to see. Infact this movie is soo insane that some people probably think that any body who puts this movie on a top ten best list is an insane psychopath. That may be true for some but for most of us we put it on a top ten best list because we had a ton of fun with this movie. It's not suppose to be to considered a masterpiece, It's suppose to be considered just a freaking awesome movie. So If you like boobs, explosions, or crazy action, then you will LOVE CRANK. And the Best part is, it's not directed by Michael Bay so of course this movie is going to be great. Over all Crank 2 is Awesome, and if you can't get pass the first fifteen minutes then it's not the movie for you, but if you can then you will love this movie as much as I did.

7.FANTASTIC MR.FOX

Man talk about a film that stays true to its name. While Fantastic Mr. Fox might not be the most fantastic film of 2009 for me, it still is a great film. And to be honest this is actually one of the few films I liked better than the book. Now I'm not saying that the book was bad, infact it is a great book, it's just that the movie had just a little more character and story for me. They actually manage to make a simplistic children's novel into a well thought out and well written movie. The voice acting is great too, George Clooney is great as Mr. Fox and this is probably one of my favorite roles he has been in, even if it is voice over. The rest of the cast is great too, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray and the rest of the cast all do their job well. If you're a stop motion fan like me and you haven't seen this movie yet, see it when it comes out on DVD/Blu ray. Trust me, it's one of the films from 2009 that made 2009 a great year for animation.

6.Coraline

Speaking of great stop motion animated films, here's another one that I consider to be one of the best of 2009. Coraline is a great movie and while it's not as good as Nightmare Before Christmas it's still a great movie. This movie also has some of the Best animation I have seen ever, Seriousily in terms of looks Coraline is one of the best looking of 09. Coraline is also very dark and creepy for a kids film and to be fair I loved it for that. Like with Fantastic Mr. Fox if you are big on stop motion animation, see this movie. While it may not have as good of a story as Fantastic Mr. Fox, everything else was so good, it's hard for me to not recommend it. And that's why Coraline makes my list at number 6.

5.Inglourious Basterds

Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite directors ever and This is definately one of his best for me. Sure it may not be historically accurate but it doesn't need to be. It just need to be a really enjoyable and really well written Tarantino movie in order to be good and luckily it manages to do that very well. Inglourious Basterds manages to have both really intense moments and awesome action which for me makes a Great Tarantino movie. Inglourious Basterds also has some great performances as well. Mainly with Christoph Waltz easily being the Best Actor in the movie and it is safe to say that he is going to win Best Supporting Actor for the Oscars because he is really that good. Brad Pitt is also awesome too, and this is probably my favorite role he has ever been in. If your a Tarantino fan and you still haven't seen this, then you are missing out. That is why Inglourious Basterds is on my list at number 5

4.Watchmen

Whilie it's not as good as the Graphic Novel, Watchmen was good enough to make my top ten list of 2009. This is also probably my second favorite comic book movie(second to The Dark Knight). I love how they manage to stay true to the Graphic Novel, while they didn't get everything right, I still stayed very faithful to the novel itself. This movie was also my most anticipated movie this year also and while it's not the best of the year, it still manages to make my list.

The one thing I am annoyed with, are the haters for this movie. I mean they're worst than the AVATAR haters, because most of them say that Watchmen sucked because it had Blue Penis, It was 2 and a half hours long and Zack Snyder used a ton of slow motion. Now I thing those are bullshit complains because the slow motion was not as bad as people make it out to be and just because a Movie has a penis in it, doesn't mean it's a bad movie. Besides if people complained about Watchmen being too long How come no one bitched at AVATAR for being over 2 and a half hours long( and it's even longer than Watchmen). And the worst part is that this movie was also consider to be nominated for a Razzie which I HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE WHY THEY WOULD CONSIDER TO NOMINATE WATCHMEN FOR A RAZZIE. Oh well, it's not the first time the razzies nominated a movie that was actually pretty good so who knows. Bottom Line, Watchmen was great and even with the Blue Penis, It still manages to be my 4 favorite of 2009.

3.Up

To be fair, you were probably expecting this film to be on the list sooner or later, and I wouldn't blame you. This is truly one of Pixar's best films and while I don't consider it as good as Toy Story or Wall-e, it is still an Incredible movie, and loathe to the person who does not put it on the top 20 best of 2009 cause that person does not have a heart. Up had a great story, great characters and Up is probably one of Pixar's funniest film.

While Up didn't only manage to be one of the funniest films of 2009 but it actually manages to be one of the saddest films this year because half of the people I know who saw Up cried which again I wouldn't blame you if you did. Infact the Married Life scene alone is one of the saddest scenes from 2009 and at the same time one of the best scenes. Though really what hasn't been said about this movie that has already been said, It's one of Pixar's best and one of the best of 2009 which is why Up soars its way Up into number 3.

2.Princess and the Frog

I know it's strange putting this movie very high on the list espically over a Pixar movie but I just Absolutely LOVE THIS MOVE. Finally we get a traditional animated movie from Disney and it actually turned out to be not only my favorite animated film this year but it also became one of my favorite Disney movies ever. I just love everything about. Even the things that I thought were going to be a problem for me actually ended up not being bad at all. For example I thought some of the characters(mainly Ray the Firefly) were going be annoying but I ended up liking every character in the movie.

Including Dr. Faciliar who is not only my favorite character in the movie, He also became My Favorite Disney Villain ever, along with possibly being my favorite Villain this year(sorry Christoph Waltz). Not only did I like the characters, The Animation in this is JUST AMAZING and It makes me glad that Disney is geting back to making 2-D animated films. And Not just the animation, The music is awesome too infact both the animation and the music is probably some best Disney has done in my opinion. Screw the people who nit picked at this movie and said it's not as good as Lion King or Little Mermaid because for me it's just as good as those films. So incase if you didn't know by now I love pretty much everything about this movie, Infact this is probably one of the few movies of 2009 I will actually give a BETTER THAN SEX RATING(I LOVE IT THAT MUCH) along with the number one movie.

1.District 9

This movie is just Incredible! District 9 is truely the best sci-fi movie and best movie of the year for me. I mean SCREW AVATAR, this is the movie that AVATAR should of been, a smart, dark, and original sci-fi film insted of just Dances with Wolves in space and in 3D. Like I said with Princess and the Frog, this is one of the few movies of 2009 that I gave a BETTER THAN SEX rating. I love the premise for this movie, aliens crash land on earth and end up in the slums of Johannesburg and insted of the aliens attacking the humans and treating them like shit, it's the human that treat the aliens like shit. Plus the way they exicuted that premise made it into a Amazing movie with a great plot. It also helps that District 9 has character development at its finiest. Wikus is a great lead character where you truly care for him and you want him to have a good outcome in the end. Plus Sharlto Copley performance helps too because he gives the most incredible performance this year and I wish he was getting more noticed from the Oscars because he needs to be nominated for Best Actor but sadly that doesn't look like it will happen.

I also have the mentition that the Special Effect in District 9 are incredible and they are probably the best special effects of this year for me. Sure the special effect in AVATAR were great too but that movie had a budget of over 200 million to make the special effects, while District 9 had a budget of 30 million and for me the movie with the lower budget is usually the better movie. Which is also one of the other reasons why I loved this movie, District 9 manages to do so much with so little and if a movie was able to do alot with a small budget it is truly a great film. I hope Neil Blomkamp will be able to make more movies soon because after District 9 he became one of my favorite directors even if he only directed one film. Though seriousily if you haven't seen District 9 and you are a true movie lover then go and see this movie, I don't care when just see it, you will thank me later. That is why District 9 is my favorite movie of 2009.

And that concludes my top ten favorite movies of 2009. Though here are some honorable that didn't make the list but if I made a top 20 these would be on the list.

Oh and BTW, I didn't get to see Precious or Up in the Air so that's why they're not on my list or honorable mentitions.
