IGN is reporting that the baddie in the new Sherlock Holmes flick is going to be British thesp Mark Strong. The actor has been in previous Guy Ritchie films such as RocknRolla and Revolver, which I bought for $3.99 from Best Buy on Black Friday. It was actually pretty good.

Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Holmes and Jude Law will be filling the shoes of his sidekick Dr. John Watson. Ritchie is aiming for more action than the mystery-focused Holmes we've seen in the past.
You can next see Strong in the Mark Millar comic adaptation Kick-Ass, starring Nicolas Cage, due out next year.
Speaking of Holmes, last night I watched The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, the Billy Wilder written/directed flick about a different Holmes than we witnessed before. In this, he's a coke addict, potentially bi-sexual, and has a smarter brother named Mycroft who works for the government and is played by a bald Christopher Lee.
I've seen the prequels, that dude pulled a Jeremy Piven. For that matter, a Nicolas Cage.
