Set Pics From M. Night Shyamalan's 'After Earth'
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we're rapidly approaching the point wherein celebrity Facebook profiles are the preeminent source for movie news. To wit, we offer these new pics from M. Night Shyamalan's 'After Earth' posted on star Will Smith's page. The images show Will and his son Jaden Smith, who plays his son if you can believe that stunt casting, on location in gorgeous Costa Rica as well as M. Night plying his trade. Is it just me or does Will look really old in that first pic? The film centers on a father and son navigating the harsh world of an abandoned Earth 1,000 years into the future. I'm still holding out hope based on the concept, but I've been burned by Shyamalan so many times. Still, judgment reserved until I actually see the film. Take a look at the images below and tell us what you think.

I have this odd feeling that Will Smith is grooming Jaden to be a new vessel for his soul to inhabit and that Trey Smith was a "failed experiment" who still tries to prove himself to his father that hes the worthy vessel.

Unbreakable was awesome, I liked the Village despite the ending being telegraphed early on....most of his movies since have had great moments but not added up to much but I don't buy the hate just like I never bought the hype.

M. Night did fuck up an adaptaion for one of the greatest animated shows of this modern era. But I am willing to give the guy another shot. If nothing else, this could be entertaining in the same way Devil or the The Happening were.

Cool pool, but I stopped seeing Shyamalan movies in theatres two movies ago. Hes got a lot of work to do to win back fans.
