Set Photos Hint At Patriot Armor Appearing In 'Iron Man 3'
I know, I know. There's been a lot of 'Iron Man 3' news of late, but with 'The Avengers' now out of the way, it makes sense that attention is beginning to be focused on the next big Marvel movie in production. Recently, these images from the set were released that suggest that the Iron Man Patriot Armor will be making an appearance in the next movie. Apparently, and I'll freely admit this was foreign to me a few hours ago, the Patriot Armor was developed by Norman Osborn and modeled after images of Iron Man and Captain America. It was shut down after the Siege of Asgard and destroyed during Red Skull's invasion of America.
So that's like, what, four different character mythologies wrapped up in one gimmicky suit? The actor in the image is James Badge Dale who was recently confirmed to be playing lesser known villain Savin in Shane Black's upcoming film. My guess is Savin was brought in to stand in for Osborn since Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man, and therefore his rogues gallery. In any event, these are some pretty cool, if unfortunately blurry images. Take a look and tell us what you think.

I liked it, I did not at first and there is no way I would conitnue to read it BUT for a short story or movie, then yeah I thought it was pretty good. I do COMPLETELY agree with you though, the Sentry was the only character i really did not care for one way or another... AND I do understand, I kind of wanted them to die in the siege BUT to see them go homicidal on a bad guy would be epic in a movie... you got to atleast admit that

A cool story arc? Sure.. At first. Even with The Sentry I kinda, sorta liked it. But Siege just... left a bad taste in my mouth.

Firepower is supposed to be a government created Iron Man. Chances are that Marvel is doing another villain hybrid (similar to Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo in IM2) by combining Firepower with Iron Patriot. That would explain the stars and stripes style.
That would be my guess anyways. Either way. Lookin' cool.

First, I cannot believe some of the comments I have read... STOP being a band wagon jumper and read the god d@mn comics you freaking tards... I HATE it when someone text me after watching the avengers, saying they couldnt believe deaths boyfriend was at the end (spoiler control)... as if they have ever picked up a freaking comic.

If this is the Iron Patriot armor, they could be really swerving away from a great story arc for future movies. The Dark Avengers is a really cool story arc... I of course do realize it would be years away and hard with the character control licenses BUT I do get hyped seeing the armor and thinking about the armor wars, extremis, and the mandarin ALL being in one movie... the only problem may be having TOO much in one movie

I hate to be that guy.. But did you, guys who complain it looks too much like Captain America, read the description up there ? It clearly states : the Patriot Armor was developed by Norman Osborn and modeled after images of Iron Man and Captain America.
And as a guy who suffered through Dark Reign, and Dark Avengers, that's basically what it is.
