Break out the boombox and Bon Jovi tapes because Jason Segel is kickin' it old school in 'Undercover Cop' - an 80's era comedy for DreamWorks Studios.
Set back in the day when Leon was still rockin' a jheri curl and Cyrus had a mullet, the story is "based" (heavy emphasis on the quotation marks there) on the real life story of an undercover cop that infiltrates the criminal underground of New Jersey. Jason Segel? As a Jersey cop? In the 80's? This we have to see. Quite frankly - after a string of terrible movies like 'Cop Out' and 'The Other Guys' - we're long overdue for a funny cop comedy.
Until then, you can see Segel this summer in the raunchy comedy 'Bad Teacher' (which also stars Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake), or in the upcoming Disney film he stars in and helped co-write, The Muppets.

then it wouldn't have been called the other guys it would have been the assholes.
the other guys was stupid but after the first 15 min you knew what you got yourself into thats when i said fuck it and started laughing my ass off its a good parody of a buddy cop movie and Will Ferrell not being a man-child but still being over the top was great for the first time in a long time. It's a damn shame about cop out tho.
but this movie could go anyway i don't think Jason Segel would be doing this if he thought it was a bad idea. whens the last time he was in something that was shit?

Comment by The Dork Knight on February 4, 2011 at 5:56pm Yea it was weird that The Other Guys WAS funny at times..but it felt so uneven. Like they knew it was just for fun and said "whos gonna give a shit"...idk what it was...sometimes i laughed my ass off!!!! then other moments they just KEPT GOING w/ the SAME joke.
for example...i LOVED when Mark Wahlberg's character kept saying "BYE" to Will Ferrell's wife...and Will kept trying to say "bye" to him but Mark didn't give a shit "yea whatever go back in the house Terry...BYE SHEILA!!!!".
Cop Out...well...that just felt awkward the entire time, which was depressing since i DO like Kevin Smith, i DO like Tracy Morgan...and i DO like Bruce Willis...so it was like a tease like "OOOH u thought this would be a good idea and be funny..didn't u.....DIDN'T U????.......well guess what, Kevin Smith DIDN'T WRITE IT...so ur fucked!!!".
