If it's crap... We'll tell you

Source: Empire

Empire caught up with Sir Ridley Scott and asked him about the Alien prequel.

As for what to expect, Scott said, “It’s a brand new box of tricks. We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.”

Scott continued to say about the film, “I never thought I’d look forward to a sequel, but a prequel is kind of interesting. I’m looking forward to doing that.”

Ridley won't screw this up. He did a kick ass job on ALIEN, and you can be sure he will steer this with skill cause he knows if he stuffs this up it will reflect badly on ALIEN, and therefore on him. So relax, it will be a good ride.

"Alien" is probably my favorite science fiction film, and when I first heard the news of a prequel I was screaming, but now that Scott's actually directing it, it could be quite awesomely awesome.

If this is a good, nay a GREAT feature (and I have supreme faith in Scott, whatever he is filming) it could be the franchise comback of the CENTUTY!!!!!!

witchking my brother agrees with you. but honestly i have been waiting for another alien movie for so long. cause as soon as they said avp was annouced i was like holy shit really that would be totally awsome. but i founed it pretty shitty cause it was set in modern era, im glad that it's set in the future again. i still cant stop watching aliens and for people who dont know what im talking about i mean alien 2.

Regardless of who is directing, this is a mistake....

I already expressed my feelings about a prequel in a blog back when it was first announced. I'm of course curious to see what Scott can do with the franchise again...but still, I think a prequel is not the right move.
