I may be more excited about this movie than I'm actually excited about it. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've only yet read the first book of the Scott Pilgrim comics. I honestly had NO idea what to expect. When it suddenly turned into an indie rock video game action movie musical at the end, I had to sit and think about whether I liked it or not for awhile afterward. I guess my somewhat baffled reaction is why I haven't gotten onto reading the next four books yet. I plan on diving back in now that one of my favorite directors, the magnificent Edgar Wright, is in the midst of directing the movie version to be called "Scott Pilgrim Vs The World" starring Michael Cera and the oh-my-god-so-hot-think-I'm-getting-faint Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Wright has always been good about regularly updating his fans with information about his projects and "Scott Pilgrim" is no exception. He's been adding pictures to his personal blog for while now to keep us all updated.
Now he's going to add to this coverage weekly video diaries about the shoot. Check out episode one here and then expect a new video up at the official movie website every week.
I SO want this to be awesome. It combines quite a few of my favorite things and his headed by the guy who made two of my favorite movies, "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz". How could it possibly go wrong?
Oh crap, I've done it now. Can't believe I actually said that. My apologies to everyone. I'm gonna go pray to the geek gods now to not be outraged at my audacity.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead can actually act, not so sure about Cera.... , I'm not saying he can't act, I'm just saying he can only play a certain kind of character.
i am proud to say i've been following this for months with a close mate of mine from ireland and we are both excited about this :D its funny because i just commented leon about this same video yesterday, cheers for the update cyrus!
God, I read all the books so far, I'm in love with it and have been waiting for this movie quite abit.
Though... Michael Cera needs to pull that stick out of his ass and like, act charismatic for once.
