He's out of office, but he may be back in leather in no time: Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed onto a development package for a possible fifth 'Terminator' film.
Santa Barbara-based hedge fund company Pacificor currently owns the rights to the 'Terminator' franchise, but if a new film isn't released by 2018, the rights would revert to James Cameron (who would likely either make his own film, or re-sell the rights for a much larger profit). So, in an effort to get a new film off the ground after 2009's 'Terminator: Salvation' underperformed at the box office, they have put together a development package (essentially a rough idea with big names attached) and are shopping it around to any studio that might possibly pony up the cash for a new film. They have pitched the idea to Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, and even CBS Films to name a few.
Along with Schwarzenegger's involvement, Fast Five' director Justin Lin has been attached to the project, as well as producer Robert W. Cort. If any studio takes the bait and decides to purchase the development package, they would then hire on screenwriters and arrange funding to put the film into development.

Yes. Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes. Best idea ever. But Bale has an oscar now. So he might feel he needs to do Oscar work.

Comment by Chaos Jumper on April 29, 2011 at 4:55pm Dear Arnold Schwarzenegger:
First an animated series *Which will suck and should have been a Boondocks season premire* an doing another Ternimator film?! Woo Woo WOOOO Arnold, lay off the pills for a second and think about what you are doing. You already gave your ACTION badge to Dwayne Johnson back in the Rundown and hes starting to come back up as the next you for god sakes. DID YOU SEE HIM IN FAST FIVE?! I really like you as a fan of the films you are involved in, with some exceptions; however, there has to be that time where you look at yourself in the mirror and just give it up. Not to make you feel worse, but I don't want you to make another big mistake, UNLESS it involves Boondocks, or community, self parody and guest staring in a few other things. But not being in an animated series where you are Iron Man with ten times the suspicion of child abduction as Batman and then rehashing yourself in a film you are obviously to old for *Unless you can be either Christian Bale or Tom Hardy and buff yourself up quickly, I'd be fine with that* so just quit while your ahead.

P.S. If you are going to be in a Ternimator movie, let someone like James Cameron, or better yet the big man himself, do the work *Unless Justin Lin knows the whole universe of Terminator*.
