The Hollywood Reporter says that Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on for a role in New Line's ensemble rom-com sequel New Year's Eve. If cast she joins Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin in the follow up to this year's hit Valentine's Day.
The movie tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year's Eve. Parker would play Breslin's mom, who relies too heavily on her daughter for company. The source also notes that Halle Berry and Zac Efron are in negotiations to join the production. If cast, Berry would play a caterer who runs into a former flame. Efron is on track to play a bike messenger who ends up trying to fulfill Pfeiffer’s New Year’s Eve resolutions in exchange for tickets to a big party.
Garry Marshall returns to direct the picture, which will shoot second unit in New York through the New Year's celebration and will likely pick up with the core cast in early February.

Comment by David on December 16, 2010 at 11:04am Robert De Niro, I hope the Ghost of Christmas Past visits you and takes you back to show you the types of films you used to make. And I hope, as Scrooge did, you realize the error of your ways and turn yourself around.
As for Sarah Jessica Parker, who gives a fuck.
