The Hollywood Reporter states that a biopic of 40th U.S. President and former actor Ronald Reagan is in the works.

The $30 million production is set for release late next year and will be based on two best-selling biographies of the 40th U.S. president by Paul Kengor: "The Crusader" and "God and Ronald Reagan." The story will chronicle Reagan's life from boyhood to Hollywood actor to leader of the free world.

Mark Joseph, who optioned the books four years ago, is co-producing with Ralph Winter (X-Men, Planet of the Apes) and Jonas McCord (Malice) wrote the script.

No actors or director have been signed, and the producers are considering two distribution offers.

Sweet, just put in how he destroyed the rust belt and the unions, Iran Contra, Grenada, building up Iraq, taking the undeserved credit for the fall of communism (it was a lot of people the Pope John Paul II had a bigger impact), trickle down economics, denying health care calling it communism, destroying central America, doing nothing about AIDS or the crack epidemic and it will be an accurate movie.

@Zeke Regan didn't defeat the Soviets, it was a Texas congress man by the name of Charlie Wilson who help bring down the Soviets in Afghanistan by supplying our now enemy with heat seeker missiles and other armaments to take down the Soviet helicopters and Soviet tanks on the battlefield. This helped in leading the Soviets down fall in the 90's which was a big mistake because we still have fighting going on in those former Warsaw pack states even well past the 90's. Another bit of history your textbooks won't tell you is that FDR had a plan he wanted to issue to the Soviet Union about creating two watch dog nations who would keep track over the world's affairs and maintain peace. FDR died though before he had the chance to even get this idea to the Soviet leaders. So you can see what we could have had would have been complete peace instead of our current chaos that we call home on planet Earth.

Seriously guys, this was the man who brought Soviet to it's downfall, so show a little respect or go use your smart mouths to end the war in Afghanistan...

@Razmere I agree I would like see a Washington film as well.

Also Regan one of the worst presidents ever. I don't care for what people are saying about him being a good president and from a historical perspective he did nothing to either improve the quality of American life or quell the conflict with the Soviets. And yes we were at war with the soviets but we call it Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Cuba, and a bunch of skirmishes that no high school or college history book will tell you.

@ Craig, we disagree on a lot of thing, but this is not the spot to argue about them so I'm not going to bother. Nether of us are going to change are minds about this and that's fine.

Fuck Politics on Spill. Us arguing isn't going to change shit, so fuck it.

@ eddy and max
You know that really figures with people like you two. "Blame Bush, Blame Bush, Blame Bush" He hasn't been in office for a while now and that excuse aint gonna cut it anymore. And I'll be the first to say, he wasn't a good president. BUT he DIDN'T appoint czars with nobody to answer to but to him. He DIDN'T try to extort businesses into taking government loans. He DIDN'T deliberatly violate the Logan Act during his campaign (look it up). He DIDN'T run around apologizing to the world that America was the cause of all the worlds problems. He DIDN'T associate with a REAL terrorist. And he DIDN'T spend us into oblivion with all these government packages. I could go on and on but this aint the site for it.

@Chucky G
You are correct. Blaming the left or the right doesn't solve anything, it only causes the problem to go in circles. We have to have a new direction. And one more thing, don't tell an infantry officer in training to shut up or you'll be pissing through a tube.

I'd rather have a George Washington movie.
