Warner Bros is moving forward with their live-action big screen version of 'Spy vs Spy' after the recent addition of Ron Howard as director. The film, based on the popular comic strip from Mad Magazine, will be about two spies attempting to "one up" each other, typically ending with one or both being blown up. David Koepp will be producing the film and overseeing the script written by 'Zathura' scribe John Kamps.

While neither the studio or Howard has talked about the aim and focus of the film, the inclusion of Kamps to the mix most likely means that this will be directed at a much younger audience, similar to Howard's 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. While obvious comparisons will made to similar plots such as 'Dispicable Me', bringing it into live action might be a solid choice for the franchise, just as long as they don't actually try to make the actor's faces look like their cartoon counterparts.

However, before Howard gears up for spy battles he has a wide array of projects in the works, including a massive re-write with collaborator Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman on their 'The Dark Tower' script in an attempt to reduce it's budget drastically for Universal Studios.

God 3D 3D 3D. What do you 3D fanatics do when the movie comes on DVD?

BECAUSE

You know it's not going to be in 3D, unless what they did with The Green Hornet becomes like a DVD movie trend or something along those lines. What happens when the film isn't as good as it was on the big-screen because there's know 3D? What will you do then? Huh huh, what? What will you do?!!! All you crazy 3D lovers!!!!

Ron Howard knows how to make a film...if its a silly children's film and a decent ride for adults...it will work

I really don't see this as working, at all.  Eh, maybe they'll go a brokeback mountain route or something to add a plot to this, but...no, I still don't see this as working.  This sounds about as bad as the Candyland movie idea sounded.

i just don't see them in a full featured film. especially LIVE ACTION.  and it won't even appeal to younger viewers.  have you seen Mad on CN?  It's clearly meant for adults. kids won't get those jokes!  and these guys are MAD original characters

If it's rated R and waits til the end to do the joke, just like MacGruber.
