Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of the best films of the 80's. Funny, imaginative and visually amazing, its one of those that I watch at least once a year. I've been waiting for a sequel for a long time although I would have been fine without a follow-up. I had a feeling like it would be like Indiana Jones where I wanted a sequel so bad but when I finally got it, it was just too little, too late.

Two things has kept my interest high. One: Robert Zemeckis has been signed on and I love most of his work to date. (Except Polar Express, and Beowulf) Two: The original screenwriters have also signed on to create the new story. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was an incredibly crafted screenplay, definitely something that was unique and revolutionary for the time. If they can come up with a story that was good as the first, we might have another masterpiece on our hands.

Unfortunately. Zemeckis has become obsessed with his motion-capture technology that has been used in The Polar Express, Beowulf and the upcoming Christmas Carol. This is purely personal but I hate motion capture with a passion. First of all, it looks fake and every character looks like they have goggly-eyes. Secondly. it was only used because the story wasn't good enough to carry a film on its own. I don't care what anyone says, Beowulf was a piece of crap!

The original Roger Rabbit was an incredible technical achievement and its proper that the sequel do the same. I would rather them use the old style than use the new motion-capture. I would like to hear all of your thoughts on the film starting pre-production and the use of motion-capture.
