Rodriguez Shares More Information about 'Predators'

Quint from AICN recently asked filmmaker Robert Rodriguez about his upcoming reboot of the Predator series, called Predators.
Rodriguez said, "With a nod toward [James] Cameron's Aliens I decided to call it Predators. I set it on a jungle-like Predator planet."
Fox, who is co-producing the picture along with Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios, plans to hire a new writer and director, but Rodriguez still plans to be as involved as possible so he "can feel free to walk to the Predators soundstage, pick up a camera and co-shoot the coolest scenes."
The filmmaker also said what he plans to do with the franchise:
"What I'd like to do with it is expand on ideas I dreamt up back in the original treatment, that had really expanded on the universe both the Predators and other species live in. We'd create new otherworldly characters while not taking away from the draw our main Predator has. I think another reason I called it Predators was to mark it as a project that should be taken seriously by a filmmaker to make a worthy follow up to a classic, much in the way Cameron made Aliens a compelling work on its own, following Ridley Scott's Alien."

Keep any human involvement out of these movies in the future !
It worked well with Arnold in the first one, anymore what would work best is Predators verse nothing but some sort of aliens on a distant planet FAR AWAY from Earth and people.

Arcwraith, we ARE talking about a species that seems to have a fishnet bodysuit as standard equipment. I'm not hoping for gratuitous reptile cleavage either (which is an oxymoron), I just want to see a female Predator kick ridiculous amounts of alien butt and tear shit up.

Giger didn't specifically create his designs for Ridley. He thrw together some stuff he had laying around and WLALH! Alien. Giger is a monster of an artist and the film just happened to fit his genre of art... Love me some Giger.
Frankly the idea of a female Predator is disgusting, and knowing hollywood they will put "IT" in a bikini with multiple leather straps that conceal nothing but protect everything, give "IT" big guns and rediculous blades, and CG Angilina Jolie's face on "IT".
I personally thing they should throw a ship full of Predators on the Klingon home world and watch the fun.

Does anyone else think that Predator is nowhere near as "serious" or "classic" as Alien? H.R. Giger's surrealist artwork and Ridley Scott's direction way trumped the cheesy action of Predator. I always thought that was the appeal; it's just a movie about machismo and machine guns.
