I guess I should disclose right off the bat that I do not like musicals, but I'd hazard that even those who do might have trouble getting into this trailer for Adam Shankman's 'Rock of Ages.' This star-packed film takes place in 1987 L.A. and is essentially a love story set against an epic rock scene. The film's cast includes Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, and Tom Cruise as fictional rock legend Stacee Jaxx. My problem here is that this looks like the 'Glee' approach to 80s rock and that immediately had me tuning out. Plus, when we actually hear Cruise sing, his voice (or at least the voice they're suggesting is his) sounds like eerily like Weird Al Yankovic. But hey, that's just my opinion. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

'Rock of Ages' hits theaters June 15th

@Superbadmike I saw an episode of Glee, the show can be funny, but terribly annoying. Its just not my cup of tea, but this movie, I wouldn't count it out, but I would leave it up to the Spill crew to review that before I went near this movie.

I agree this does look like complete glee shit.

@Akage

Alright, well if you have seen episodes and still hate it then you have the right to insult it all you want. That clip was pretty hilarious though so props for that. I'm not saying people sould not be allowed to hate it and make fun of it, but you have to earn that right by watching it. I had to sit trough 2 hours of Twilight to earn the right to insult that.

this is based on a Broadway musical of course its gonna feel like glee. i just hope they don't town down the humor from the original. if i don't hear Alec Baldwin say "remember that time you BEEB BEEB BEEEB that baby lama" im out. but ill keep an eye out for this, im a fan of the original, in fact whenever i hear the song "we built this city on rock and roll" i always add "vagina you're fired"

Sounds like some Tom Auto-Cruise to me.
