Review of Pirhana 3D.
3D shows it's teeth huh? The only thing 3D showed me is IT STILL LOOKS HORRIBLE!!!!!
Lets start with Story
Story: The story in Pirhana was pretty... unexisting. But I will try to explain it the best I can.
A crack in the crust opens up some entrance for these vicious Pirhanas that are supposed to be extinct. So they escape and start eating hu-
STOP!!!!!
That is just too damn bad and overthetop. Here is how I am going to explain the plot.
Vicious pirhanas eat douchbags on spring break.
There you go pretty simple. I wasn't impressed by this plot and frankly I'm not sure anyone did.
Story: *1/2
Let's vear into the so called "Acting"
Acting: I think this may be the only movie where the cameos acting was better than the real cast. Maybe not, I don't know. There are 3 big cameos in Pirhana. I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you that Christopher Loyd is 1 of them but I won't tell you what the other 2 are since they weren't shown in the trailer. But they both did ok along with Cristopher Loyd.
So like the story, the acting didn't impress me.
Acting: * 1/2
Let me discuss some of the pros.
Pros: I will admit this movie can be pretty damn fun at some parts. Some. And I thought the gore was pretty damn awesome in this movie and I can't deny that. Uhhhhh yeah that's about it.
Now we have some fun and talk about the dreaded... CONS
Cons: Oh boy where do I start. The acting and the story like I said were god awful but the worst thing in this movie was the 3D. I don't understand why they made this 3D. Oh wait yeah I do. $$$$$ I also really didn't care for musical score in this. If you guys read some of my other blogs you would know I'm big on music in films. Don't ask why, I just am. :)
So overall.
Pirhana 3D can have it's fun moments but most of it is just poor acting, poor delivery, and just shitty 3D.
Pirhana 3D: *1/2 Or in Spill form, LOW Rental.

Im just super jaded with james cameron after making movies like terminator 2, aliens, true lies, the abyss, i just feel like ever since he made titanic he has done terrible movies compared to what he has already given us, and Avatar was the final nail in the coffin for me as far as the fall from a good film maker for him. so i doubt i'll be able to comment on a james cameron movie without saying it's a P.O.S haha

I can agree with you on that, i liked the a-team and journey to the center of the earth (one reason i liked the brendan fraser remake was because it wasn't a copy so much as it tried to create it's own story). Nothing wrong with liking a good oscar type movie, and as long as you point out what made the movie good or bad while letting people know that it wasn't for you but someone else may like it if say they liked "pirhana, snakes on a plane" you know something that is so cheesy it's bad time of movie. Almost all reviews are based on someones own opinion, i could sit here and debate why i thought a movie like "james camerons Avatar" is an utter P.O.S. but it would be my own opinion, however i can say that if you like titanic chances are you will like Avatar. Film critics are a funny bunch in the sense that they believe they know everything about movies and acting and such, the reason i like spill.com and the spill community is because most people realize on here that not everyone will like the same movies they day and there will be a difference of opinion on such a matter. But most people don't go out of there way to say hey your opinion suck and mine is better, usually they explain their own point of view and move on with life knowing that they got a little bit smarter.

Okay gang ignore that part where I said I don't like movies that entertain. Because Chris, your absolutely right. That IS a movies purpose. What I intended on pointing out was I don't like so-bad-its-good type movies. Now. There are some that I do enjoy. I liked The A Team(fun as hell) remember Journey to the Center of the Earth? that was fun! Dude that was a rollercoaster ride! oh and The Last Airbender. If I only liked movies with good acting and Oscar worthy screenplay would I have given that ** 1/2 stars? noooooo. I would have ripped it apart and only give it one. So If I made you guys think I don't like fun movies. That is false. Next time I go into a movie like this, I'll focus more on having a good time and less on Oscar awards.

It is just you, don't like movies made for fun, ha, don't watch movies!
Especially not ones called Piranha 3D, your argument makes little to no sense, I know that movies can be so much more than "just fun" but yet again Film is a media so vary it can be just for Fun. This Review is almost rendered useless if you can't sit down, comprehend on what the movie is trying to achieve and see if it does just that.

it may just be me, but the sole purpose of all movies is to entertain people, so you saying you don't like movies that sole purpose is to have fun (gi joe, the expendables). Tends to make some people believe you don't like movies at all, every once in a while i love a good cheese fest which is what pirhana 3D is, but for the most part i enjoy movies that entertain me and make me think at the same time (district 9, inception, hurt locker). I'm all for you not liking this movie, not everyone will, but if your gonna say you don't like movies that sole purpose is to make the audience have fun then you should at least back it up with what kinds of movies you do like. on top of that im one of those people that buys into the christopher nolan belief in regards to 3D pictures, we already view things in 3D, so 3D movies are incorrect in there terminology and just a gimmick (best use of 3D gimmick i've seen is from "how to train your dragon")

I do understand this movie. I don't like movies that have a soul purpose like making the audience have fun
(GI Joe, The Expendables, THIS!!) It's not my cup of tea. I'm not saying you guys are wrong for enjoying this. It's your opinion and I respect it as I HOPED you would respect mine. Obviously not huh?

I think you should stay out of the theatre until Oscar season rolls around, as you don't really seem to get a movie called Piranha 3D.
