The game isn't as bad as people make it out to be.  It's not good, but it's not that bad.  Yes the AI is awful, but the game is meant to be played with friends.  I know that doesn't justify how terrible the AI, or the fact that they for some unknown reason didn't include split screen, but let's pretend you played with some friends.  You can be pretty strategic with how each person uses their class type.

I never had a problem with the cover system.  I never had the problem of sticking to a wall or box I was running by. The game is clearly meant to have an arcade feel, which can somewhat justify the bullet sponge enemies on the higher difficulties (although on professional it can get a little ridiculous).  The game expects you to replay the levels to try to achieve the highest score possible.  For those that enjoy it, you get as much playtime as you want out of the game.

I'd say this is a bargain bin third person shooter.  It's not the worst game of the year, and probably won't even be in the top 10.  I think Call of Juarez The Cartel was so bad that it deserves to still be on the list despite being released in 2011.  I'd say this is a bargain bin game if you can get some friends to play along with you.

Prof. Jeff, what's the deal? In the RE 6 trailer talk I said 4 and 5 had cover systems before 6 and your arguement was that they weren't really cover systems but action points where cover was just implimented because it needed to be. But then in this review, you defend this game's cover system by saying, "Have you seen Resident Evil 5's cover system?" Why would you do me like that?

I'm joking of course, but anyway it seems like this game is actively hated by Resident Evil fans. So it's gotta be missing some element that the fans liked. Or maybe it was just a case of being so different from the original source material that it was unrecognizable as a game in the franchise, despite having all these icons in it. Like the original Deus Ex and Invisible War, it had the setting and iconography, but was so different gameplaywise that fans had no fun playing it. Who Knows? It's a mystery.

Sorry to say but what a horrible turn of events for the Resident Evil franchise... Wait...sorry? Nevermind. I just remembered those horrible movies that it spawned. This game seems alright. It looks great for a co-op zombie shoot 'em up like Left 4 Dead. But that's about it. The story lacks, and yes most of the gameplay does too.

I rented ORC. Easily the worst game I've played so far this year.

Terrible shooting mechanics, horrible cover system, awful friendly/enemy AI, bullet sponge enemies and the story blows. It could of been so much more but no they suck in the RE fans with all the cool stuff you want to see in a Resident Evil game but they forgot to actually put in a decent game. It could of been the Resident Evil version of L4D but no.

It needed atleast another year in development, RE5 is freaking amazing compared to this. Probably the worst game I've purchased this gen. I argued with myself that the reviews were over reacting with how bad it is so I bought it anyway, felt like I had been robbed the moment I started playing it.

I truly enjoyed this game. It's a FUN game, I don't understand why so much  hate towards the game .I agree with Jeff's review, he's looking at this game at a reasonable stand point.

the game plays like army of 2 40th day with a resident evil skin on it.

maybe that's why i enjoyed it so much.
