Join Brian, Cyrus, Luke, and special guest and obsessive blu-ray buyer Adam Charles, borrowed from our friends at Film School Rejects,as we race through an awesome pile of must-haves. Oh, and drink profusely. What? It's kind of our Blue Xmas ep. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

I lost my shit when you talked about the Ninja Turtles thing, and then you had to let me down with "Oh yeah, we're not giving that away btw."

@Cheezyspam I have approximately 1608. Luke's collection probably hovers around that and Cyrus's, from what I saw, looked comparable as well. But, it isn't the size of our dvd wangs that counts, it's how we keep them from collecting dust.

I don't know if Luke or Cyrus use a cataloging system or not, but I use the Collectorz movie software (www.collectorz.com/movie). I was able to acquire the standard edition for free about 6 months ago through some online deal. It's highly convenient and intuitive and worth the $30. For anyone with a hefty collection I'd say it's definitely worth at least the Standard Edition with as much data that you get to store for each disc and it does a pretty good job of applying default values when you first get everything in so that you don't have to manually modify too much (hardly at all unless you're anal like me). It's also how I catalog the posters I own in a separate database of the same software. They also offer a phone app to sync with and they have an online database version you can use as well, but if you don't get the Pro Edition it's something like 20 bucks a year to keep your collection cataloged online. If you're considering it they pretty much set everything up for you to want the Pro Edition for $60, because it's a lifetime subscription to keeping your catalog online to sync with your database on your machine, you get to scan the bar codes on the phone app for adding discs MUCH faster, and the Pro Edition supposedly opens up a lot more capabilities in the software that I don't get in the Standard Edition.

Fuck Heaven's Gate, any movie that kills animals on their set deserves whatever horrible outcome this movie got

I think of Adventure Time as a combination of Calvin and Hobbes, Dungeons and Dragons, and Yellow Submarine.  Cyrus hit it right on the head, the storytelling is sincere and not in any way cynical.  Jake and Finn are pure characters who have clear faults, but are still epitomes of true heroes.  What other show on TV today is so pure of heart, and still so wildly entertaining?

Sorry, but "The Avengers" was crap. Sure, it's fun to see all these superheroes together onscreen but beyond just plain geekdom, I can't fathom why people sit there and oogle over this film. It was messy, childish, generic and just plain forgettable.

Wow, what a great show. I was wondering if you might be able to post a check-list, kind of a shopping list of the movies you included? That way, I (being pitifully poor right now) might check them off over the next few years as I get them one at a time!

Next to Willy Wonka you really do have the best jobs in the world!

@Cyrus, Brian and Luke: You teased it earlier in the show, but you never said how many DVDs/Blus you actually own!! As a fellow DVD collector I have to know!! Also is there a DVD tracker site you use to keep up with them all? I use http://www.filmaf.com/ and I currently own 1173 titles. I'd love to browse through your collections!
