Let's play with this ripple effect theory.

If Hank hadn't turned on the TV at Walt's birthday party, Walt would have never gotten the idea to cook meth in the first place (at least not so soon); therefore, Hank's responsible for the plane crash.

If Jesse's parents hadn't kicked him out of his aunt's house, he'd have never had to move into the townhouse or meet Jane; therefore, Jesse's parents caused the plane crash.

If Jane hadn't turned into a blackmailing Vampire golddigger coke whore, Walt wouldn't have hated her enough to let her die. Not to mentioning shooting heroin into her tits in the first place; therefore, Jane caused the plane crash.

If Q from Star Trek Jane's dad had put his foot down and not let said vampire coke whore daughter stay in her drug den an extra day with another known drug-user, she wouldn't have had a chance to OD. Not to mention going to a job requiring concentration while an emotional wreck; therefore, Jane's dad caused the plane crash [This is actually a valid statement, btw].

What about the asshole that invented Tv and/or crystal meth in the first place?

You see how specious this butterfly effect/ 6 degrees of separation reasoning is?

Breaking bad's season 2 (season 3 starts SUNDAY) ending wasn't bad it was just kinda out left field(especially the way they teased use through out season 2 with the stuff being fished out of the pool and body bags and what appeared to be Walt Sr. glasses) but shows the ripple effect one persons actions can have on the people around them even people they don''t even fully know.

This was outta left field but didn't even make anything interesting especially which plane crash they picked

Plane crashes are not good twists.

One ruined the twist to an otherwise good season of Breaking Bad and this one is just...tasteless.

Emotional investment can't be imposed from the outside. If we don't feel a character's internal struggle, don't try to up the ante with sensationalist bullshit.

how about you two PRIVATE MESSAGE EACH OTHER!

anyway joke they should have made during this review:

Korey: you know what they should have done just to make this movie a bit funnier is near the end right before the big 'fuck you moment' just had a flash back to the main character's brother dying and have the main character there and the brother being like: "whatever you....d-do, don't become a whiny little bi-bitch..." and dies

Leon: and then come back after a minute "oh yeah god says twilight sucks stop making those movies" and dies again

Hi, Cole! I don't really think it matters either especially considering that many Canadians, including myself, have family in the States, but I figured I'd better say "maybe" in the case that someone pulls the "You're not from the country, so you don't understand!" card. 9_9

9/11 is definitely recent, but then they made the movie Flight 93 even fewer years after it had happened, but I think you mean using as a plot device, and you might be right. Personally, I thought it was a little refreshing to see something used in a movie that I actually knew about the day it happened.

Again, my opinion of the use of 9/11 is based in part on my belief of the situation. It's based in part on a piece of literature I read about a girl on the swim team who finds out her father is cheating on her mother. She keeps it secret for a time, but eventually tells her mother, and her mother does not believe her. Hurt by that, the girl goes to the pool at school alone, and that just happens to be the day of the Columbine shooting.

I suppose my approval of the use of these events as plot devices in one or a few characters' stories is that otherwise, you still have a kind of detachment if you know that they're going to be hurt in a historical, tragic event. And, after all, none of these people knew the event was going to take place until it did. It came as a surprise to them, as it did for we the audience.

See, I actually felt for the main couple as well as the little girl. I felt for Robert Pattinson's character in that I know what it's like to be protective of a younger sibling, and to want to be the "hero" however stupid it might be lol. I felt for Emilie de Ravin's character partly because we open with her as a little girl and partly because of her father. I could see the motivation for the anger is what I'm saying.

I'd actually like to see the other movies Robert Pattinson has played in, aside from Twilight and New Moon. Little Ashes, for example, looks good. So I can't really comment on the brooding unless he's done it in his other movies as well.

Ah, well, not that I want to believe it, but I do. And you're perfectly welcome not to. *shrug*

I guess what I'm getting by all of this is that there is good reason for liking the movie, and it doesn't make all of us idiots who easily eat up bullshit. Not that anyone said that, but it's the way people tend to think. Thus on Remember Me, I respectfully disagree. :)
