Red Band Trailer For Elijah Wood's 'Maniac'
As a huge fan of William Lustig's landmark 1980 slasher film 'Maniac,' I've been paying close attention to Alexandre Aja's remake. I was a little skeptical of Elijah Wood's ability to inhabit the unsettling creep made famous by Joe Spinell, but with the release of this red band trailer, I have to say I'm a little more on board. The quieter moments are what sold me although I can say that it looks like they've added a few kills; the body count appearing higher in this version. I love the shot at the end wherein 'Maniac's infamous poster is recreated in the reflection of the car. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

As a fan of the original i was pretty nervous when this was announced, but after watching the trailer i'm pretty excited. I like the artsy direction they're going with.

I liked High Tension a lot and Piranha 3D was amusing. I'll give this one a chance. I'd like to watch the original first though, but I can't find a copy of it around here.

Hm.....I probably will not see it (I am just not into this kind of film personally) but it is definitely selling the creepy and disturbing angle.
