Ratner to Create Live-Action 'Snow White'

Source: Deadline New York

Deadline New York says that Snow White will be getting an updated live-action retelling courtesy of Brett Ratner.

The new version is said to take an "edgy" and comedic look at the fairy tale, and will come from a script written by Melisa Wallack.

Ratner says of his version: "His dwarves were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale... [O]urs is edgy and there is more comedy. The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we're going to do."

Because Tim Burton is past his prime.
Have you seen Alice in Wonderland?

Will only be good if it has a mature rating, no PG13 crap.

Why not use Tim Burton? Seems like that's all Tim Burton does anymore anyway.

If Brett Ratner gets to make this movie and Guillermo doesn't get to make The Hobbit, I don't know what Hollywood is smoking.

... That's not a very compelling description at all. :/ In fact, that makes it sound like it's a thrown away idea from Shrek.

edgy...that word is so overused at this point...

There's actually a version of Snow White were she didn´t live with 7 dwarfs, but with 40 dragons

@ghostwriter: Same here. When ever I hear them say something about an adaption being "edgy" or "edgier" I see it as a sign of trouble.

I'm open to a new interpretation....but edgy?
