So this is my first official look at the upcoming new disney fairy tale movie Rapunzel Unbraided , which also plans to add a new disney princess to the line up.
Does anybody else thinks that Rapunzel looks alot like animated Amy Adams ??
It looks lazy to imitate the previous princess but I think this as to do with the failed attempt to make Giselle the next disney princess , what happen ?? Well Disney abandoned that plan when it realized securing the life-long rights to the image of Amy Adams, who plays Giselle, was harder than an ugly step-sister squeezing into Cinderella's glass shoe.
Damn you Disney , you have tons of cash from the HSM series and the Hanna Montana movie . Can you just spend a little ??
Rapunzel will follow The Princess and the Frog which introduces Princess Tiana and soon after The Bear and the Bow a upcoming computer-animated 3-D film being produced by Pixar Animation Studios which will introduce Princess Merida (Reese Witherspoon)
An pretty-in-pink, red headed Disney princess with a heart of gold and woodland animal sidekick?
Nope, sounds nothing like Enchanted. LOL. I still think it could be cute.

Most of the Disney princesses look alike, when you get down to that level. And FYI, there is no way to secure lifetime likeness rights. Long-term contracts would need to be negotiated, but would last for no roe than five to ten years a piece, with frequent rises for inflational reasons, and a virtual inability without special provisions to do sideprojects like the Disney Princess direct-to-videos from a few years back. Characters like Snow White and Cinderella easily have decades and who knows maybe even a couple of centuries value for marketing purposes, as might also be said for newer characters like Ariel and Jasmine. Their stories are timeless, fairy tales, which have the same impact for children born yesterday as yesteryear. Much as I loved Enchanted, let's be honest, that movie's going to feel dated ten years from now. And with no way to renew interest as the aforementioned side-projects, Giselle would simply be forgotten very easily. From even the most apologetic of standpoints that would just be terrible business, and a waste of money in very little time, relatively speaking.

Amy adams always looks like a cartoon character to me, not trying to insult or anything. she just looks otherworldly.
Yeah, I thought the same thing DarkV. Maybe they had these two ideas and one of them was going to be 2D and another 3D?
Personally, I don't think the two characters look alike. They both look out of the Disney style, but what else would you expect from Disney?
I am happy that seem to be looking at a different body build for their princesses.

I'll go with "Avatar: The Last Airbender", the music is so awesome and not having it's own OST it's a complete wasted opportunity. The closest there is the composers' MySpace page.
You guys got any examples?
