With all of the news concerning
Watchmen,
Iron Man 2,
The Dark Knight sequel, and the Superman reboot,
Spider Man 4 is sitting well on the sidelines.
In October of 2008, Raimi stated that he wanted two Spider-Man movies back to back with Curt Connors as the Lizard (although, since the Doc kept part of the symbiote with him, would that potentially be room for Carnage? Hopefully not.)
Anyway, in an Empire Magazine story, Raimi's decision for a villain could head back to his roots in horror films. He stated: “I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius. He’s really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.”
So it appears that the Lizard will sit on the bleachers the same way Warner Bros is eying a Superman villain besides Lex Luthor for their Superman film.
But could Morbius work? After all, what would his role be if Peter Parker hasn't tried to take the serum to become normal as he did in Amazing #100?

Will Raimi have the two team up and turn out something similar to Spider Man 3? Who knows?
