'Raid: Redemption' Bruiser Added To 'Fast & Furious 6' Cast

Are you ready for another entry in 'The Fast & The Furious' franchise? Well you better be, because Justin Lin's 'Fast & Furious 6' is headed our way with great velocity. The film will bring back franchise fixtures Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and, apparently, Michelle RodriguezDwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will evidently also be reprising his punchy, beef-headed role from 'Fast Five.' Back in April it was announced that female ass-kicker extraordinaire Gina Carano ('Haywire') would also be joining the roster. Now it appears as if the studio has added more fire power, or I guess we should say fighter power, to the proceedings. Indonesian actor Joe Taslim has been cast as a villain named Jah who uses martial arts and parkour to battle Walker and Diesel. This skill set is unsurprising considering Taslim fought his way through the bloody odyssey that is Gareth Evans' 'The Raid: Redemption.' Taslim played the SWAT team leader Jakain that dazzlingly violent film.

This is fantastic news. 'The Raid: Redemption' is one of the best martial arts/action movies I have ever seen, and every inch of that seeming hyperbole is painstakingly earned. If you haven't seen it yet, correct that at once! Evans' broke new ground within the genre and created simultaneously horrifying and crowd-pleasing fight sequences within a singular action set piece. Some of the most memorable skirmishes were Taslim's, and I can't wait to see how he's used in 'Fast & Furious 6.'It seems he's being utilized to introduce parkour elements into the movie, and that is never a bad thing. Between he and Gina Carano, I'm actually really starting to get pumped for this sixth entry in the series. I like that the focus seems to be gathering actors known for their bruising abilities, and my hope is that there will be plenty of hand-to-hand combat in this sequel to offset, and in doing so compliment, the insane driving stunts.

What do you guys think? Any 'The Raid: Redemption' fans excited by Taslim's casting? What other foreign martial arts talent would you cast in 'Fast & Furious 6'if given the option?

Yayan Ruhian scare the shit out of me in the movie. He's like the asian Danny Trejo.

Loved him in the Raid! Happy to see the guy get work, his fight scene was one of the best of the year.

Yayan Ruhian (Mad Dog). He's practically Al Leong's clone.

I'm in. The Raid: Redemption was great. Best martial art movie I've seen in a long time. A new element to the franchise. I'm liking this direction.

Reminds me of Jet Li bringing martial arts to Lethal Weapon 4. And I actually liked that element of the film. And since at some point I seemed to have become a FnF fan, this is great.
