If it's crap... We'll tell you

This movie is very funny- there was never a minute when I didn't laugh. Although Borat is better than Bruno, I think Bruno comes close to it. The first 10 minutes set you up on whether or not you should watch the film or walk out of the theater.

Bruno was 10 times more offensive, gross, and uncomfortable than Borat which made the film, to me, more AND less entertaining. Some scenes I felt were staged which was distracting (obvious one is where all the parents say "Yes" to Bruno's photo-shoot questions).

Bruno felt like Sacha Baron Cohen's most exaggerated (gay) stereotype and wasn't innocent or likable as Borat- but I guess this is because Bruno is supposed to be egotestical. The big reason why I think Borat is better than Bruno is that Bruno is a exaggerated homosexual (stereotype) which I'm sure most gays aren't like.

My favorite scene has to be when they air Bruno's TV show pilot to a few people. Bruno on the film is WAY funnier than the Bruno on Da Ali G Show. Is the film funnier than The Hangover? That's tough because both films are very funny and entertaining, but obviously The Hangover has a story that kept me loving it whereas Bruno you would only watch it to what he does next- two completely different ways both movies uses to move along.

Borat was not only a great comedy but a great social commentary, but in Bruno it's only a great comedy set to make people have fun. If this film tried to be a social commentary about people being homophobic even though the main character is an exaggerated stereotype, it would have failed.

I give BRUNO a 4 out of 5, or a low FULL PRICE. I'm not sure if I want to see this film more than once- and if the film has no censors than I'll never watch it again- but if the DVD comes out with this theatrical cut (and another version) then Bruno will definitely will be in my DVD collection

[P.S. I give Borat a 4.5 out of 5 for being a film unlike any other and because the character is the best of three]
