Draining every last dollar out of the Shrek franchise, Dreamworks Animation has hired TV writer Tom Wheeler to write the "Shrek" spinoff Puss in Boots, a stand-alone feature foray for the feline assassin/swordsman voiced by Antonio Banderas in the two most recent "Shrek" films.

The Puss in Boots character, originally hired to knock off the grumpy green ogre, debuted in Shrek 2, which is the 10th-highest-grossing movie of all time. He went on to become part of Shrek's entourage.

Chris Miller, who added voices and dialogue to previous "Shrek" installments and co-directed and co-wrote the third movie, wrote an earlier draft of the "Puss" screenplay.

I'll watch it, There gonna need a whole lot of creativity or this spin-off won't work, I'll watch it, because I love the character, made me laugh a lot in the second movie, seriously Dreamworks Animation is not that good with sequels, they had some alright ones like Ice Age 2 ( It's ok, but Im not watching it again ), some really good ones like Shrek 2 and some terrible ones like Madagascar 2

Not only are they doing this, but Shrek 4 and 5 too, Please, I love the first, the second was pretty good, but the third was average at best.
