The book was outstanding and I'm a consummate Michael Mann fan. Despite the complaints about his HD filming, I'm anxious to see this over the weekend.

And Carlyle.. you really need to watch Stage Beauty to get an idea of how incredible Billy Crudup is. The Doc Manhattan association is like seeing Nicholson and forever imagining the Joker. It's too limiting.

I was just on Wiki, and they have a pic of John Dillinger, and Johny Depp looks just like him!

I want to see this really badly, but the look of the film makes we want to puke.

I loved this film. It could have been a little better, but overall it's pretty bad ass. A pretty good engaging drama. As for the HD cameras -- I loved the effect. It looked pretty bad-ass and it made you feel like you were there, actually in the crossfire. It was handled pretty well in my opinion. But I was sort of split between Dillinger and Purvis haha. Nice review guys! Here's mine REVIEW.

I think they should have all done the review in that old-timey sounding voice like Crudup used for Hoover. Everytime the crew started using those voices I was laughing like crazy.

Makes me think of Dave Chapelle's stand-up: "This is how I talk see!!!! I gotta do this see!!!"

From what you guys are saying about the HD-ness of the film, I think I know exactly what you mean. It's like my TV at home where it looks like you're watching them MAKE the movie, and not the movie ITSELF. That's one of the biggest problems I have...when you're watching HDTV it's fine but then all the movies turn to crap because it's too clear.

As for the spoiler alert, I'm not too mad because it is technically history...but still.

I've yet to see the movie, or listen to the review yet, but reading about how people are tired of Johnny Depp just confuses me. He is one of, if not the best, actor working today. The guy does incredible work, now that does not mean all his movies are good, but if he ever went away I would be disappointed. I love watching the man work. He's got natural talent and charisma. And remember he was quiet for a long time to a point in the nineties where people were wondering when his next movie would be coming out. Now he has at least one a year. Which for me is a great thing. And also, Bale is a great actor, everyone needs to lay off him too, you are just jealous. That's my peace.
