Project X

Well I finally saw it. I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't looking forward to this movie like everyone else...and I mean EVERYONE else was.

Just like those Concert Movies that make me think "Why go see a movie about a concert when I can go see a concert." Project X is a Party Movie that made me think "Why go see a movie about a party when I can go to a party?". But hey, somehow it worked and I felt like I was at the most INSANE party I've ever been to (Which by the way, you're never going to make a party this cool...ever.) However that's really all it had to offer.

The movie's about 3 kids. Costas,(The most annoying bastard I've ever seen in a movie) Tom (The sorta hero of the movie) and JB. And the plot is this: 3 un popular kids throw the most insane party ever and then they become popular.That's it, that's all the plot is...about 60% of the movie just looked like a cool music video and I'll admit, I was getting into it, I wanted to start a party in the theater, but the rest of the movie didn't offer anything to really keep me interested.

It wasn't hilarious. It was funny at times but no where near as funny as Superbad (Which I still think is the best example of these movies) and The Hangover. In fact there are things they mention that seem like they would be funny but they NEVER GO BACK TO IT, it just disappears. I didn't find any of the characters likable, except for the Main Character and the two 10 year olds who are the security guards for the party. 

The soundtrack is great, everyone needs this mix for their party, and the party is insane, awesome and great to look at. The rest is pretty forgettable. I wasn't mad that I saw this, I had a good time but it should have been for more reasons than just "This party is insane" 

I give it a high rental.
