If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Grejo joined Wodenson's group
You know, some days nothing goes right. Take this morning for instance. I rolled out of the Hive and just knew it was going to be a crap day. The Banelings spent all night chewing on the couch, there was no hot Creep in the shower, and as if all that wasn't enough... I wandered over to the Lair and wouldn't you know it? I required more Vespene gas. Some days it just doesn't pay to try to convert the universe into a race of parasitic murders, believe you me.
We can't stop here! This is spoiler country!
So wait. Kerrigan had hair, right? Then, when she turned into a Zerg, she got hair tentacles. I'm with you so far. But now that she's a person again, she's got dreadlocks? Well that's just silly. Are you telling me that they don't have leave-in conditioner in the Starcraft universe? Or maybe being mutated into a ruthless Zerg killing machine has the added side effect of converting you into a Rasta? Do the Zerg spend a lot of time listening to Bob Marley? Because let me tell you... I'm totally on board with that.
For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last year, what we're looking at here are two new trailers for the next chapter in the Starcraft II universe, Heart of the Swarm. Just like Wings of Liberty focused on good old boy Jimmy Raynor and the Terrans' quest for intergalactic country music, Heart of the Swarm will give us a much more intimate look at the Zerg and how their story plays out in the SC universe. Unfortunately it will probably be 2012 before we actually see this expansion, but dammit now I'm riled up all over again.
Ever since the multiplayer aspect of Starcraft became so competitive I've pretty much stuck to the story mode for my kicks, and Blizzard has not disappointed on that front. Hell, even without multiplayer SC II made #4 on my top 10 games of 2010. That level of quality, coupled with the fact that the Zerg have always been my favorite faction, means there's a definite chance that an 'expansion pack' may be on my GOTY list for 2012. But who knows? What do you guys think? Anyone play SC II competitively? Is this franchise still going to be viable in 2014 when the third expansion comes out? Do you have any Vespene Gas that I could borrow? I swear I'll pay you back on Monday.
This Portal 2 fan movie is touching and wonderful. It's not really news, but you should watch it just the same.

The game really wasn't about the campaign. Only doing the campaign when the game was made for multiplayer seems to do yourself a disservice.
Anyway, I enjoyed the first games story but the second was a bad Michael Bay movie with dialog that made me cringe.
Comment by El Capitan Mexico on June 1, 2011 at 10:46am Thanks for the update, sure its a spoiler for those who didn't play Wings of Liberty but at least the new trailer makes since.
BTW, is Kerrigan's hair really that big of a big deal? Sure they may look like scaley dreadlocks or like a hippie that lives in Berkeley or Santa Cruz but it doesn't look all that bad. From the looks of it she'll be evolving in the campaign mode.
Comment by Gift of the Magi on June 1, 2011 at 8:12am Starcraft 2...heh....the first of the series was decent for its time. The thing that put it over most of the others was the story actually. As far as multiplayer or replay-ability, I always preferred the Command and Conquer series.
But today, the rock-paper-scissors method of RTS is a bit old. The story is still solid but the style feels...dated. It's basically the same game with more stuff and better graphics...which would have been ok about 4-5 years ago but not anymore. Even the first Dawn of War is both more innovative and a better overall game than SC2, and Dawn of War 2 completely blows it out of the water.
I beat SC2 in about 3 days without trying hard and returned it for credit.

Comment by The Black Swordsman on May 31, 2011 at 4:47pm This is a spoiler but hey its already spoiled from this trailer and you asked for it, yes at the end of starcraft 2, you capture kerrigan after using an artifact that kills all zerg and when used on her it turned her into a human. I thought that she would turn into a good guy and work with the humans but this trailer revealed that she still with the zerg.
@Cab I'm with you on blizzard, I used to love them, starcraft 1, diablo 1 @ 2 (diablo 1 is underated), and warcraft 1,2 & 3 are some awesome games.
I dont see any problem whatsoever with the dreadlocks. Maybe she just wears them to look more like her old self to keep on reminding the zerg she is the same person as before. White people can have dreadlocks too, stereotyping that all white people with dreads are listening to Marley and smoking weed is some prehistoric stereotypical thinking.
