'Taken' was one of the most badass films to be released in the last decade. The key to its success was an unflinching, uncompromising, and completely unstoppable Liam Neeson. Today plot details were announced for the impending sequel and…it’s not good news. Apparently the plot will revolve around the father of the first film’s villain, played by Rade Sherbedgia ('Snatch', 'X-Men: First Class'), taking his revenge on Liam Neeson. Sounds awesome, right? But evidently he does this by  kidnapping Neeson and his wife (played by Famke Janssen) right off the bat (I guess they got back together between films). So who is left to save the day? Maggie Grace ('Lost', the daughter from the first film).

I can’t even begin to tell you how much this sucks. Am I honestly expected to believe that the duck-walking spazz from the first film is capable of saving her mother and special agent father? I’m not even sure she could save seat on a city bus. Though OG 'Taken' writers Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen are returning to pen 'Taken 2', this decision is completely baffling and instills absolutely no confidence in the upcoming sequel.

'Taken 2: Kidnapping Bugaloo' hits theaters sometime in 2013.

You are retarded if you don't like this news. It is brilliant. I am sure that it will revolve around him escaping (either in the opening of the film or the first half of it). Or it might be like Die Hard WITH A VENGEANCE!!!

@jacksonB

I don't think they mean that villian( the one in the pic getting tazed) they mean the final boss,..the older one,...click the name it takes u to a pic,..though I do wonder,..HIS father? what is he, like 100 years old? General Palpatine or somthin? heh

As long as Luc is involved I have some hope here,..I am hoping Liam breaks free,.or has his own bad assery stuff going on while the daughter, whom unrealistically will probably be all Gina Carano,..is looking for him.

But how can the guy responsible get his revenge if he was strapped to a fucking chair with electric spikes in his legs? Does he get superpowers or something? Dumbest thing i've ever heard!

@CecilMcW00t totally agree, I am not opposed to this direction at all, nowadays anything unexpected hollywood throws at me I'll go with, especially when it's a sequel to a near-perfect film.

So... they make a sequel to Taken, and have Liam Neeson be the kidnapped bitch who sits in a room and waits to be saved?

Right... He won't sign on for that... right?  Liam?

Bryan (Liam Neeson's chaaracter) was in service where he learned these skills over many years, and had many years experience under his belt.  What does his dizty little daughter have?  One traumatizing event and a rich step-daddy who spoiled her.  There is no way in hell she learned enough even if her dad taught her.

I'm sorry, but I am totally down. I love Maggie Grace, and this has potential if done right.
