Wow, big day for sequel news. First Michael Bay makes his 'Trans4mers' commitment and now Steven Spielberg reveals that the lord of 'The Lord of the Rings,' Peter Jackson, will be taking over the next 'Adventures of Tintin' film. Jackson served as producer under Spielberg when Steven directed last year's adaptation of the popular comic book series. Spielberg stated that Jackson will go directly from directing 'The Hobbit' into helming 'Tintin 2' with what seems like no break in between. Spielberg wanted to return to direct another 'Tintin' film, but apparently he and Jackson had made a deal that they would trade off for the sequel. The interviewer tries to get Spielberg to confirm which of the 'Tintin' stories would serve as the basis for the film, but he would not give up the ghost on that front; though 'The Calculus Affair' was previously mentioned by producer Kathleen Kennedy.

I can't wait to see Peter Jackson's 'Tintin' movie. I wasn't expecting to enjoy the first one as much as I did, and if there is one guy I would trust in the director's chair aside from Spielberg, it would easily be Jackson. Since 'Tintin 2,' like the first film, will be accomplished entirely with motion-capture, it seems right up Jackson's alley. His motion-capture work with the character Gollum in 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy helped revolutionize the technology. And hey, speaking of Gollum, Jackson working with Andy Serkis again? How can you not love that? Serkis voiced Captain Haddock in the first film and I have no doubt he'll be reprising the role with Jackson in charge of the ship. Though Kennedy had let slip that 'The Calculus Affair' would be the adapted story, Spielberg ducks and dodges the question pretty well. I still think 'The Calculus Affair' will makeup much of the screenplay, but Spielberg also mentions that the script will cover more than one book so it'll most likely work in conjunction with another story.

Are you guys excited about Jackson taking over? Any fans of the 'Tintin' comics out there? What can you tell us about 'The Calculus Affair?'

I love Tintin, grew up with the books and the cartoon serials. I was skeptic to the movies but then when the first images came out and sighted in relief. I watched the film in 3D (and in non-dubbed vers.) it was my third 3D film in the theatre, was cool and they used the 3D well enough and not over do it like in "Harry Potter". Regarding Andy Serkis, he was great as Haddock, funny and very trust worthty as Haddock is in the books. Peter jackson is a very visiual and detail-director, just look at the previous movies before "Lord of the Ring". Now when he is doing Hobbit and Tintin 2 it can't go wrong. Plus I think Jackson don't want a break between the films. Since I recall he auditioned for the role of Haddock himself.

The Calculus Affair is a good book not that there are many bad tintin comics ( big tintin fan here) but since the last movie was based off several comics I don't know if they will use just the The Calculus Affair. They might use 3 more comics like they did for the last movie but i dont know how they will connect them as the last movie was based of continuing story arcs, and from what i remember The Calculus Affair is a stand alone book.
